Right, but that's Magus failing us, not Knux suprising us. That's why Magus would still get to be chump of the round (or close to it) while Knux is beaten out narrowly by surprises from the likes of Ness, Zelda, and Vincent (and that's just so far, we're not down with the round yet).

Yes he is, just because we ignored the signs doesn't mean Knux is doing any better than he should. Look at it this way, in 2k3 Tidus ~ Ganon ~ Magus... in 2k4 Tidus ~ Knux. Added to that is the fact that Sam Fisher also took a huge dive. The evidence was always there speaking out against Magus and we just didn't listen. Hell, I'm the one that did the math to prove it by means of Ganon-Alucard-Sephiroth-Cloud assuming Seph over performed (which explained away any potential drop from MM as the same time) and even I didn't listen to it. The evidence was always there, knuckles isn't doing any better than the stats say he should.

I thought so, but for awhile the spring contest results were overriding that data in my mind. Clearly a mistake on my part.

yes I'm well aware similar have ahppened before but gaining what was around 200-250 combined votes in 20 minutes without the oponent slowing down at all is realtively rare espesically when teh match has been consistent for a whle at this point anyway.

Which is why I was calling everybody a bunch of newbs. We've seen hundreds of matches now and there are always spikes from the leading character when another character starts coming back. It's not like *ding* It's X:XX so the XXX vote changes to the YYY vote and that's that! There's a transition period where both characters will be fighting it out for awhile.

Although that seemed to be a drop in Knuckles votes rather than a gain in Magus votes. Could be a small fightback coupled with poor stuffing attempts.
