For the record, Wind Waker's high water mark was 2022 votes at around
15 hours, 45 minutes into the match according to sc2k5.com. Last I
checked, Knucks lead was around 2450 and still climbing 14 hours into
the match. Abandon all hope, ye who enter here.

We have no idea if theres cheating, thanks to the 5-minute poll updater.
You can still find unusual or obvious trends via the vote totals off of SC2K5. That's still very easy even with Vercetti/Kefka. Magus' pull during his strongest part of the night was dismal.

Regardless of how overrated magus was or wasn't I'd still call him the
biggest loser of the round, and knux the biggest winner. Sure he wasn't
blown out, but nobody even gave knux a chance to do anything in this
mastch and he ends up winning. On the same token magus's performance
would have been considered disapointing if he won with under 60%, and
he goes and loses the ****ing match. At least kerrigan, cecil, zidane,
and terra weren't favourites in any way, shape, or form in their
matches. This is the biggest upset since luigi got crushed by squall.
Possibly even bigger. Not even those who thought magus was overrated
expected him to be overrated by this much.

I don't recall CT ever having a starcraftesque rush in the second night
vote, and not even starcraft mounted a comeback on this big of a scale.
Even against wind waker it wasn't behind quite this much. Magus doesn't
stand a chance at making a comeback.

Knuckles can go jump off a bridge and **** himself sideways until the legs fall off. today's match absolutely sucks.
first of all, Magus is one of my all-time favorites and i hate to see him lose, especially to some loser he was unanimously expected to beat.
second of all, i HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE Knuckles and all things related to Sonic the Hedgehog. i always was a blind anti-Sonic fanboy and this certainly isn't helping matters.
third of all, my bracket weeps for the three points it is about to lose. fortunately, i have Vincent winning the Division, but still.

Well, I dunno. Master Chief came back from 2400 votes down to almost win in 2004.
Master Chief has a HUGE reason for such a comeback, seeing how the majority of his sales are in North America. His comeback was more of a lack of a large fanbase in other regions.

Before today's match, how much would Magus be predicted to get on Magus. Am I wrong or isn't Knuckles doing better than what Sonic should do?

Oh, I don't dispute that. MC held a lot of strength during those hours, while Frog was weak as a kitten. Plus he did it *versus* a CT character, not vice-versa.
There'll be no huge come back for Magus. Maybe he'll shave some off the top in the evening, but no more.
