For the curious, this is exactly what Knuckles did against Kefka. He then firmly established about 3-4 hours into the poll that he was going to win, then took off with the day vote.
Given the strength of Magus, Knuckles could very well win this thing by 5000 votes or more.

You deserve some respect for at the very least avoiding the fanboy trap (claim there was cheating).


But if Magus has been overrated all this time, look at all the character's strength that has been put in doubt!

hm. interesting match.

Magus reminds me of Frog, a character who can beat elite characters but not destroy weaker ones. and holy hell, they're from the same game! it's like they've got a ceiling. if Crono wasn't a noble nine member, I'd be a lot more sure of this. I still think Magus will win, but this isn't as surprising to me as the others in here. I expected 55-45; looks like Knux may even take a lead on him. even if he does, the night vote will help Magus win.

With how this contest has been going, even if you have Magus winning the division and he loses to Knuckles, you could still have a chance. At this rate, the winner might only have 150-160 points, *at most*. Hell, we could see any combination of Samus, Crono, Mario, Sonic, Megaman, Vincent, Tifa, Squall, Snake, Zelda, Bowser, Ryu, Zero, or Kirby facing each other in the finals. Seems like an exaggeration but I now have zero confidence in how future rounds are going to shape up anymore.

The contest has reached a level of unpredictablity not seen since the first contest. And I like it...well, aside from the fact I'll probably end up with less than 100 points now at this rate. ><

I agree with transience. I am seeing Magus very much like Frog. He can blow away fodder but against a decent character he'll have a close match. It'll be funny if Knuckles ends up near Squall in the Xstats because Magus beats Squall by near the same amount.

In less than an hour, Knuckles has cut Magus' lead by over 100.

yeah, I don't see this as proof of Squall > Magus or Vincent > Magus at all. if Frog avoids a doubling vs. Samus, it'll tell us a lot more about this kind of thing. I still feel good that Magus can beat Squall.

No. No way am I going to read everything that's been written so far. But still, WTF? **** Starcraft over Wind Waker, at least we've seen Magus and Knuckles against each other, and once Knuckles takes off, we're seeing the biggest upset of all time. Need I remind you Magus was the UNANIMOUS pick in the BOP? As in, nobody at all picked Knuckles. To put that in perspective, a character with 10:1 odds is about to lose to a character with 25000:1 odds.

Well, with Magus out of the way, Vincent is going to have a farcically easy way to the Elite 8.
