I really think FFVIII has a large drop off after Squall. After the main character, there usually has to something to stand out. Laguna and Seifer have their fanbases but they are nothing compared to Auron's, Vivi's, Tifa's, Rikku's, etc...

That's a very selective list of very strong characters for the most part. Notice that second list of thirteen that just happens to be on both lists. Vincent is on the verge of breaking into both lists here (though he might not make either). If that's not a sign of serious power (or at LLEEAASSTT potential), especially when you start to analyze it more, then I don't know what will convince you. There's now no doubt in my mind Dante's goin' down, and there's lil' doubt that Magus will go down too. For my bracket's sake, I hope Magus wins...but, come on, it's looking like it's harder and harder to deny.

You guys think Dante might benefit from higher vote totals? Blame his increase from '02 to '03 on DMC2 if you want, but if higher vote totals again and a new game helps him since last year...he could be stronger than most of us think.

These numbers from Vincent aren't convincing me. You all can eat them up, but Vincent = Aeris doesn't make Kerrigan too low to imagine in my books. This of course goes off the assumption that Dante actually increased to Aeris-esque levels, but I think that his match with Terra suggests that.

All of this "lock" talk is silly, and I'd be surprised to the max if Vincent broke 52-53% on Dante, even if he does win. But keep rolling in your hype, I'm not gonna stop you.
