I think it's more a case of FFVII never disappointing. In the five completed contests we've had, the only time I can remember FFVII disappointing was Mario/Cloud 2002, and that is far and away the biggest fluke match we've ever seen.

What? Sephiroth was a HUGE disappointment in the match against Bowser. And against Cloud in 2k4, I suppose. I don't see how someone can argue that the match with Bowser was impressive at all for Sephiroth.

And the hype for Vincent to beat Crono after this match is just as ridiculous as the hype for Dante to beat Sonic after demolishing Ratchet. Why does this happen every year?

I just came back from my first day of senior year in high school only to find out Vincent is completely destroying Kerrigan. Both good news and bad news. Good because I thought Vincent would blow out Kerrigan. Bad because Vincent looks too powerful.

He still won the whole thing, didn't he? No one broke 42% on him throughout the tournament, and even though Nintendo's big representatives overperformed, that's not too shocking an ordeal when one realizes that you could have stuffed 10,000 votes for Ganondorf and Sephiroth would have still cruised to a win. In hindsight, it was a bit silly of everyone to expect him to never dip below 65% (or whatever insane number it was). Not even Link can do that.

About Aeris vs Vincent, we know that Kingdom Hearts gave a huge boost to Squall, Cloud, Sephiroth and Aeris. Heck, KH combined with FFVII was probably what enabled Aeris to do what she did to Sora (I don't think her being in FFVII alone would enable her to get that much SFF). So maybe that would be a deciding factor to her being stronger then Vincent, if only indirectly, seeing as Vincent wasn't in KH. All I know is that I would take Aeris over Vincent.

The strongest I see Terra being is around Kefka. If we were to adjust Dante to a new score based off of Terra=Kefka and put a guesstimation of Kerrigan at say 20%, thats near Jill and Viewtiful joe, what would be the expected outcome of Dante/Vincent? I know this has a lot of conjecture in it and thus doesn't really mean much, but I'm curious and don't feel like trying to figure out how to use the xstats.

Are we still on that ridiculous assumption that a minor cameo in Kingdom Hearts INCREASED someone's popularity? Aeris did nothing in Kingdom Hearts to make her more popular. Kingdom Hearts was designed to cater to Final Fantasy fans. Whether or not Aeris was actually IN the game, her fans still played the game. Vincent and Tifa would SFF Sora just as much as Aeris did.

If any FF character were to get any increase in popularity from Kingdom Hearts, it would be Squall and MAYBE Cloud. That's it.

Do I need to link you to the page that compares characters between 2k2 and 2k3? Unless you want to believe that the characters in KH all randomly increased for no reason at all by a huge percentage, KH did have a huge factor in 2k3.
