Is Ridley even a Male? I thought it was genderless?

Several scans in Metroid Prime refer to him as "he".

Yeah, but Crono increased every year since then. A rematch would probably go almost 70-30.

Crono still isn't projected to beat Dante with more than 66% as of 2004.

Really? Well, I'll be damned.

The Ridley question was a joke. I call it a he.

I love all the people suddenly adjusting their views of Kerrigan's strength to fit into their crappy predictions.

And anyone saying Vincent is a champion contender is an idiot.

Hey, it's hard to base that off of one match against someone like Kerrigan, but I wouldn't rule out the possibility of him nearly doing it. Crono is certainly a big favorite, but Vincent will still have had something to increase himself between now and that particular match.

Great, now the Vincent vs Crono bandwagon has formed. You people never fail to amaze me.

Anyways, this is hilarious. Those mass carriers of Kerrigan's saw Vincent and jumped off the ships to ask for his autograph. :-)

That's how bad it is, right now. GG Kerrigan.

Face it: Kerrigan is not weaker than JC Denton or Ulala. I personally think she's right around Vyse, which makes Vincent a champion contender.

Face it she could be, I will always think Terra > Kerrigan and if you think Vincent is champion material then you're seriously wrong.

Forget Dante; forget Magus; Crono should be ****ting his pants right about now.

If you think that then he better what out for Tifa in Round 5 because she has just as much as a chance to take the champion as Vincent, if not more.

I'd still take Terra over Kerrigan; I don't think there's much of an option for Kerrigan > Terra. Assuming Terra = Kerrigan, right now it looks like Dante gets 37.95% on Vincent next round. I have Vincent winning, but I'm not buying that spread.

I'm going to say this as nicely as possible: Final Fantasy 7 is the one game to never show ANY signs of weakness in these contests. You could slap up a piece of dog feces on a match pic, label it "Cloud" and it would still kill all of its opponents before barely losing to Link. This entire underestimation of Vincent was just laughable from the start.

"He can't be as popular as the rest of the cast! He's an optional character and isn't very well-known!"

Uh-huh. Dante won't even break 45% on him, if that.

What? Its not like I want it to be that way, but so far that's how it is. There were barely even any females in the contest until now.

And I really should have said the ones that are in the contest already, as Kimahri isn't stronger than Rikku. -_-

Exactly. I'll admit that when the bracket was first released, I had both Tifa and Vincent losing in Round 2 (in my defense, I've never played FFVII. =P). Of course, when I realized that this is the lone entity to have never disappointed in a contest, it suddenly became crystal clear. Once again, I'll repeat my question from a few weeks ago:

Give me that random piece of furniture from FFVII!

Which way do you think the SFF would go in a Tifa vs Vincent match?

Vincent. I do believe he's definitely the third strongest FFVII representative we'll have in this contest. I also think he'll be the first break to absolutely smash through that little "elite" barrier. If not this year, next year.

Vincent is not a championship contender, i would be willing to bet he doesn't beat dante with more than 60%.

That still puts him on par with Magus, who isn't that far away from Crono to begin with going by his 2003 ranking. Then he would have Advent Children to help him should he make it to Crono. We certainly can't say that it's definite, but I really wouldn't immediately rule out the possibility if he does manage to put those numbers against Dante.

I'm still shocked that people completely forgot about the company cap and let themselves believe that any character that hadn't made it into the contest by now must be significantly weaker than their counterparts.

You would think seeing Auron, Frog, and Magus step into the contest and dominate, or even this year with Rikku surprising the hell out of everyone, that another character from THE MOST POPULAR GAME ON THIS SITE, would have the chance to be a powerhouse.

Again, I said from the beginning... If someone like Aeris can be as strong as she is, then I KNEW the other FF7 characters could be strong too. Are people still trying to say that Aeris's spoiler makes her that much more popular?

What elite barrier? If we still count Snake in it, then I say atleast 5 characters will smash through it this year.

There still hasn't been a character that has managed to crack that area with people like Mario, Mega Man, and Crono. Vincent is going to be the first person who could actually beat them and not be apart of that special little 'elite' group.

And no, I don't consider Snake apart of it, if only because he's fallen so much. Or at least he appears to have done so.

im thinking the match ends up like the one ryu had with dante in 2k3 around 55-45. If he puts up those numbers i would have him lose to magus in a tight match around 52-48, on the other hand, if does hit around 60%, then it wouldn't be out of the qusetion to beat magus, but if he does it will be very close and thinking that advent children is going to help him beat crono is fooling yourself. AC is not going to give him a 4-5% percent boost, which is what it would take to beat crono, heck i doubt its going to give hima noticable boost period.

Vincent has ALWAYS been the third most popular character from FFVII.

For people who allegedly know so much about this site's tastes, or the FFVII fanbase in general, the excuses you're pulling out of your ass to underestimate Vincent are becoming ridiculous.

"He's an optional character!"

You have to be ****ing kidding me. People came to GameFAQs initially FOR FFVII walkthroughs. The majority of them came simply to figure out how to get Vincent! I'd go so far as to say this site was BUILT on the back of morons such as myself that had no clue as to how you'd get Mr. Valentine.

Vincent vs. Tifa? I'd go Vincent.

If it inches him closer to Crono, anything could potentially happen that could favor Vincent. I wouldn't expect such a large boost from Advent Children alone, but it WILL provide a boost. I would expect a bigger one for Vincent than for Cloud. He has so much room to gather new fans and improve.

yet no one would question Crono > Sonic. this is one match with one weak character. I wouldn't take it to mean much at all right now. if he gets 60+% on Dante, then I'll be convinced that he's a force. I'll reserve judgment until then
