I believe this is more Kerrigan's weakness than Vincent's strength. We all seem to be in an "I called it" mood, so I'll just add some gas on the fire: I predicted we'd see a Kuja-esque performance from Kerrigan when the bracket was first revealed, and even though what Vincent's doing now is impressive, he has to prove himself against Dante before he gets his wings.

Dang...Vincent made a huge boost in percentage. He might actually make it close to 80% when it's all said and done...

Eh? I'd say that if people were predicting Vincent/Magus in the Oracle challenge right now, it would be fairly evenly split; and I think that Vincent would be the slight favorite.

I think Vincent is a clear favorite against Dante at this point.

Why? Exactly? Before yesterday, I think Terra would've been the slight favorite against Kerrigan. It makes more sense, if you ask me, especially with this Kerrigan picture. Remember all of the people who thought Terra >= Kefka? They all just hid under a rock now I guess and claim that Terra's weak as hell, and for some reason Kerrigan can't be subject to the same weakness?

I don't think this decides anything either way. Unless Vincent drops a ton during the day or increases a ton during the day, it's still very much up in the air.

Maybe in your mind Dante is expected to beat Vincent, but by definition the favorite is what the consensus opinion is. And that was with Vincent before, and should clearly be with Vincent now.

No way. Barret is one of the least popular FFVII characters, above Cait Sith for sure and probably Yuffie, too. Red XIII would probably be below Vincent/Tifa/Aeris. I think only Cid could top him.

Well you implied it was as a result of this match, but I don't think we can really draw much from that. Terra has a pretty decent ceiling, and Kerrigan's got a pretty low floor. Terra > Kerrigan is hardly unreasonable.

Now if Vincent gets up to 77-80%+, I'll really doubt that Dante has a chance. But even then, nothing's for certain.

Myself and others have been telling people for a long time that Final Fantasy VII characters can be real forces at this site.

People kept wanting to say, "Well, not *everyone* can be that strong!"

But really, I think FF7 is similar to Street Fighter 2 in the character department. Most characters below Ryu | Cloud/Sephiroth could be within a relatively tight range of one another.

Ulti has the master plan. He makes a topic about a match in which the result is fairly obvious to us, but the board is somewhat oblivious to, and then the rest of the board proceeds to worship him.

It's why Ulti > most of us. :P I say that as light-hearted as I can too...
