It was more of a prize for his career (including directly calling me insane quite a bunch of times, while I never started jumping at him with SC>WW or MH>Kuja), than specifically for those last 2-3 comments actually. And no I didn't think Kerrigan would win even with her Brood War pick, but I live in Canada and felt like supporting her with my bracket too, and there's no reason to start dancing around being an ass only because he feels like it.

I'd like to be able to expect more from him anyway...

With the pic Kerrigan got, I'm expecting Vincent to break 60% with ease, though doubling her would be a longshot.

Hey, I'm sure we all think each other is crazy at different times. I just happen to make sure that other person knows exactly what I think of what they say whenever I disagree. It's nothing someone should take personally, it's just that some of you, myself included, can make off the wall predictions that will mostly end up being so very wrong. Heh.

I'm pretty sure we all can get on each others nerves from time to time. After all, as much as some of us want to believe we're unbiased or being rational about something, many times we'll be completely irrational and biased. When we argue over something, I'm sure we'd always like to have our particular point proven right.

But, in this particular instance, I'm not sure just what it was that was "annoying." I didn't say anything negative to Kerrigan supporters or even say that Kerrigan was screwed. I merely said that I loved the match picture, for reasons that should be obvious to anyone.

Analysis

This is the first and last time we’re going to see a newbie vs. newbie match this contest. CJayC had a great sense of humor putting two of board 8’s most nominated characters against each other in the first round. I feel that the board has overestimated both of these characters and if anyone thinks this is going to be a nail biter better wait because this isn’t going to be close.

First we have Sarah Kerrigan from Starcraft and Starcraft: Brood Wars. Even though she’s not in the multiplayer she is from the campaign missions, but not all of them. I think that Kerrigan will be weaker just because she isn’t from the multiplayer. Starcraft just isn’t one of those games where people play the missions; they liked it because of the multiplayer. I know with the game out already for many years’ people would eventually play the missions, but that probably wouldn’t help her too much. I would take many things such as Carriers and Battle Cruisers over Kerrigan.

Vincent is from the game the made GameFAQs, Final Fantasy VII. Vincent is a fan favorite character, but that doesn’t always get you the votes. Vincent is probably one of the most overrated characters in this contest. I can see how people having him over Kerrigan and even Dante, but I have no reason to believe that Vincent will be able to beat Magus. That would put him over Aeris and most likely Tifa and I don’t see that happening. Why, well you’ve probably heard me say this many times, but it’s because he’s optional. I know it’s not that hard to get him and the game has been out for years, but that can still be enough to put him below two characters that you will always get and are fairly popular. Another thing is that Vincent isn’t part of the story of Final Fantasy VII and is really only there to fight. Where he ranks, well I’ll get to that next round.

From what I hear Vincent is getting a new game plus he’ll be in the new Final Fantasy movie that is coming out next month. I don’t think these things will help him for one reason, they haven’t come out yet! I do expect him to gain once those are out, but until then the only people that really know about this and who’s in it and what’s happening are hardcore Final Fantasy fans (Even though this site does have some it won’t help him as much as you think).

If anybody remembered when Starcraft and Diablo had their matches there was spamming across the internet at blizzard sites. The same will happen to Kerrigan. The question now becomes on how many sites will be announcing the match. I think it will be something more or less like Starcraft except it won’t be as bad as it.

Kerrigan might benefit if she got the picture that was on Brood Wars. Like CATS with his face shot Kerrigan might get a two or so percent boost against Vincent because people will notice the picture and say “Isn’t that person from Starcraft?” just like they said “Isn’t he from All Your Base?”. But it seems like she’s not going to get that picture and she got the picture that I thought she would get (which isn’t shown at anytime during the game) too bad it wasn’t like this match was going to be close anyways.

So it’s the battle of the board favorites and I can see why we like them. I think Vincent might be the board favorite because of the bracket support. After the first 15 minutes of the poll I don’t think there’s going to be much percent change since both Square and Blizzard have the same voting patterns, but Kerrigan will be the favorite at night and Vincent will be the favorite during the day.

Vincent's going to need a damn good showing for me to fear Vincent > Dante tomorrow. If Vincent doesn't manage a doubling, book it for Dante. Even if he does, it's just going to make things interesting. That pic is just a bit tough to recognize as Kerrigan for casual fans I'd think.

I'd probably take Kerrigan over Terra in the end, but not by much at all.
