I love it when a plan comes together. But come on, Terra = Ultros, do you realize just how stupid that is, people? Dante increased, it's pretty well undeniable at this point. But I know this topic will keep denying it, because 90% of it has Dante going down in round 2. Just for fun... I've always liked these comparisons...

Dante is already the most popular Playstation 2 exclusive character. His games have incurred a sales slump recently, but some advertising and hype (and possibly a good game =P) can easily fix that. Besides, it's not like God of War has sold nearly as many copies as the original Devil May Cry. I can see a possible Kratos push, but that's mainly because he's Sony born and bred.

DMC4 should return the good fortune to Dante. DMC3 was a good game on par with the original, but didn't sell too well because DMC2 disappointed so much.

In any case, what people so often fail to realize is, a new game doesn't have to bring in droves of new fans to make a character increase, it just has to make the character more likable. Dante's old coolness mostly returned in DMC3, so the existing voters will vote him over more characters now. Dante's scored high enough blowouts that he doesn't actually need more fans here to increase, he just needs to be more likable.

I'm thrilled with this. You people can keep putting Terra lower, but unless Terra gains a ton I'm just putting Dante at 33-34% on 2k3 Link and loving every minute of it. Simply because Vyse > Terra should not be a lock.

No, because Snake will also have gone up from Snake Eater. It would be pretty damn close though, I think. Snake losing to Dante is no more ridiculous than Terra losing to Vyse if you ask me, anyway.

In either case, my whole defense of Dante winning this division was Magus being overrated by the stats, which I stand by. Dante is looking to be ahead of 2k4 Squall with ease, I'll say that much.

It's not so much Dante jumping 7 points, by the way. It's Dante getting picture screwed last year against Sonic, dropping to 2k2 levels because of it (we've seen bad pictures drop a character 10% before, it's not unfreasable). Dante's true 2k4 value was 28.whatever, so he's only going up 3-4 points. Which is about what he went up for DMC2. (which was deemed "a flop")

Hayabusa, Kefka, and Solid Snake would like some words with you. All signs point to them being weakened by at least that much by bad pictures.

And I meant to put 3-5%, put in reality I should have put 3-6% I suppose. Anywhere from 31%-34% makes Dante quite viable to take this division even without an overrated Magus.

Hayabusa was not weakenend that much by the picture. Zero was overrated because the 20XX doesnt exist. Put Unadjusted Zero vs Hayabusa and the match comes within a 1% of where its projected to come.

We have no proof Angel Kefka actually did cause an increase since Luca's value isnt that far from his 2004 one.

MC is only 3% higher than his 2003 value if we use the correct stats where 20XX Factor doesnt exist. So even ignoring Frog's ability to overperform on everyone because of his consistent fanbase and ignoring Solid Snake actually taking a drop, Solid Snake biggest drop could be 3%.

And Zero will prove you wrong with his match against Mario... He's the exception in the 20XX division. We have no idea whether there was SFF in his match against Mega Man. It was assumed there wasn't because Zero got nearly what he was "supposed" to on Mega Man. But Mega Man ended up looking MUCH weaker in 2k4. Mega Man and Zero aren't even connected in 2k3. Zero's directly attached to Sonic, who went up in 2k4. Like I said before, Mega Man and Zero aren't joined at the hip. Just because Mega Man decreased, it doesn't mean that Zero should also... especially proportionally.
