I don't think it'd be THAT bad... FFIX still has it's fanbase... somewhere. There still are a great deal of people that like FFIX better than FFVII. It would just look bad because Cloud is already so much stronger than Zidane. The actual SFF that Zidane would receive wouldn't be nearly as bad as Link/Ganon.

We don't know that. Honestly I doubt Link would quadruple Zidane. Cloud probably would, but there's no way it'd be as bad as Link/Ganondorf... Cloud has more hate than Link does, and Zidane's fanbase is more separate than Ganon's.

Assuming Zidane ends up with 23% tomorrow, Link 2k4 can easily quadruple him.

With some decent amount of SFF, Cloud can easily quintuple Zidane.

I checked it out...if Zidane gets his SFF'd 23% on Crono (2k4, for our purposes), then that makes him at 17.10% on Link 2k4. If Zidane was able to get 20% on Link 2k4, that'd mean SFF'd Zidane loses to the "real" Zidane with 42.75%...I think this means that we're only seeing 85.5% of Zidane today. From the general opinion of this topic though, I don't think that's goin' to be well received.

Kerrigan cannot and will not be anywhere close to Diablo. If she even breaks 40% on Dante, I'll be shocked.

Link got a big boost in 2004, and yet somehow Ganondorf didn't

I don't understand why no one brings up the possibility of Alucard going up and Kratos being strong to counter this. Kratos is a recent character from a good PS2 action title that sold well. He can't be that much weaker than Dante. We constantly credit emulation for Crono's increases, but SOTN hasn't sold all that well and Alucard still does well.

And from experience, a lot of people have downloaded SOTN ISOs. Ganon may have gone up in 2004 but not benefited due to the SFF.

Phediuk said it best. Ensemble cast in FF6 = Terra not exactly getting the standard hero:villain relationship. If anything, Shadow or even Mog might be stronger than Terra is.

Kirby over Cecil has not effected my faith in Terra at all. The only pre-PSX Square games anyone cares about is FFVI and CT. After that, big drop off.

The high votes, however, have caused me to realize Dante will win and I am losing a point.

That's ironic, because my Alucard > Sora pick is probably my biggest regret right now. Terra > Dante will probably screw me over too, but Alucard over Sora was one I was actually quite confident in prior to the contest, whereas I always knew Terra was a longshot.

I'd actually much rather see Terra and Vincent switch places. Vincent would do major damage as an 8 seed to brackets, and I like the idea of a Terra/Kerrigan match better than a Terra/Dante match.

Terra would have a much better shot at winning, since we don't know either her or Kerrigan's strength. And if she won, she would get some notoriety on the board for beating one of the board favorites. Plus I'll be pleased that someone from my favorite game actually did well for herself in the contest before bowing out.

As far as I'm concerned, I don't even need to mention which FF6 character I nominated. In hindsight, I shouldn't have, because maybe it was the difference maker between a 4 and a 5, and he'd have crushed Sam Fisher instead of losing AND spawning the crazy bloodshed we're seeing.

Terra is one of my favorite characters. I nominate her every single year, and was exceptionally pleased with the amount of support she got this year. She definitely deserves it.

Switching Terra with Vincent would be a great idea. I'd have taken Vincent > Dante (which is in bracket anyways in round 2), Terra > Kerrigan, and Vincent > Terra. I'd say Terra would win with around 55%, but I wouldn't be very confident in that.

No problem. I actually don't really even like my screenname. I made it back in 2000 during my freshman year in college. Couldn't think of anything else, so I just used my initials. I would make another account, but it's hard enough to get known on these boards with ONE screenname, let alone an alt.

Speaking of Zidane SFF, I really think Vivi could SFF him to hell. Worse than Cloud could ever hope to. Vivi's got more non-fan appeal with the cooler looking character model, and how many FF9 fans out there have you seen that prefer Zidane to Vivi?

Do they exist? Maybe they don't exist.

In any case, I'd put my money on Vivi taking Zidane lower than Link took Ganondorf.
