Summer 2005 Contest -- Current Score: 17/18
Today's Prediction -- Kefka vs. Tommy Vercetti
From: FFantasyFX | Posted: 8/6/2005 5:54:18 AM | Message Detail
Hah! Kefka just broke 1,100 again. He can do this all day long for all I care. Staying 50/50 with Vercetti throughout the day would be a moral victory for Kefka given his past history.

I believed in Kefka...and he's winning! OMG!

I have a long-day today so I can't actually see any part of this match until the very late in the night. (ironically, I was all day here yesterday and the match sucked hard) I can only hope Kefka mantains the lead.

I had Kefka over Vercetti, 53/47 when I was considering this match. If it maintains as such, I will be both pleased and frustrated. I like being right, but I hate picking Kefka to win.

Vercetti has fairly consistently been getting just over 50% of the vote for about a half hour now. Not by much, but it's a start. Whatever happens kefka won't be winning this by any more then 250 votes if he even wins it at all.

Even if Vercetti does win, the damage has been done. He looks rather pathetic now at the moment, to be struggling against Kefka when he did reasonably well against Mega Man before.

I wouldn't say the damage has been done yet. We aren't even done with the morning vote yet and kefka is showing signs of slipping. If he's losing a small amount of his lead to vercetti now, then I can't imagine him going 50/50 with him during the day when vercetti should be a bit stronger, and kefka well be at his weakest.

Like I said, it's not much but vercetti is taking in slightly over 50% of the votes. In the last 45 minutes he's knocked 50 votes off of kefka's lead. Nothing spectacular, but he's the fact that he's been slowly taking off kefka's vote consistently does show as a sign of weakness for kefka.

Vercetti is not swinging 1,000 votes anytime soon.

Obviously, but on the same token kefka's lead isn't going to be doing any increasing either. Just because vercetti isn't taking off 100 votes an update doesn't mean he's not doing something to kefka's lead. He's been picking up the pace slowly as well. Kefka isn't going to roll over and die, but he isn't going to keep his lead at anything remotely safe.

Kefka is dropping the lead ridiculously fast.

Remember what happened with kefka vs. knuckles? biggest turn-around I've ever seen. Now, Vercetti is not nearly as strong as Knuckles, but I still feel quite uneasy with my pick of Kefka at this point. Today might be my last day having a perfect bracket...

Well, from here till the end, Knuckles went from 54.27% up to 57.46%. If TV gains that much he wins easily. Knuckles also gained more than 10000 votes, which would be more than enough to give TV the lead.

And for comparison with Kefka's Spring matches:

Mithos gained 2.3%
Wesker gained .2% (Angel Kefka)
Diablo gained 2.6%

And just for good measure, Doom gained .3% on FFVI, and LttP gained 1.2%.

So, if Vercetti's as good with the day vote as Mithos or Diablo, he takes it.

You need to remember percentage is a bad thing to go off of, because the spring contest has very low vote totals, and the further up you get in percentage the more it takes to gain, although that part is still relevent because it shows how kefka always chokes with the day vote.
