Contest Stats and Discussion - Part 179
From: armitage999 | Posted: 8/3/2005 1:24:08 AM | Message Detail
Not necessarily, it depends on where Tidus lands, and what picture CATS gets. Spring Contest CATS ranks comfortably ahead of KoaC through adjusted 2k4 Tidus - CATS would win that one 56/44. If you base KoaC on unadjusted 2k4 Tidus, Spring Contest CATS breaks 60% (but Eggplant CATS would be very close to 50/50).

That sounds about justifiable :P. CATS shouldn't get any more than that.

Board 8 would implode if that match ever happened, though, but that would just mainly be the cause of the people that just joined the fad to think those two characters were actually cool :P

Ryu is starting to remain static/ come back a bit. Now all that remains is the traditional SF losing the morining vote (relatively speaking at least) and things should stabalize afterwards.

Ha.

Ryu 57.14% 5714
Rikku 42.86% 4286
TOTAL VOTES 10000

Sleepy-time now. Percentages should be interesting tomorrow afternoon, should Ryu or Rikku be unable to keep up their current pace.

Rikku 43.05% 4880

Whoa. I did not expect to see Rikku break 43%

I'm going to bed... when I get up, if she's broken 45%, I'll... eat my shoe. Or at least take a bite. But man, I really hope she does. GO RIKKU!

By the looks of it, Rikku will finish the match with atleast 44%. I don't think Ryu can dominate Rikku with the day vote. Rikku might even win it.

Ooh Sacred Bovine, screw my Oracle prediction... I am loving this! And since Rikku should 'win' the day vote, there is no reason that she should not crack 45%. Rikku for the comeback? I could die a happy man if Rikku>Tidus. What do we need for that?

Ryu increases his lead 200 votes in 45 minutes. Rikku shaves off .3%. By my count, Rikku has outright won two five minute updates. Not bad at all, especially since I still think we have yet to reach her best time.

CATS should lead for at least a couple minutes, I shall say three.

Barring an orgasm-inducing Rikku comeback, I have run my 'top half of bracket' predicting to 93/93. It would take an act of God for me to somehow remain perfect through all the landmines laying ahead in the second round, but not impossible. Stay tuned.

Ouch. Rikku's doing really, really good here. Better than ****ing Yuna, at that. Ryu's going to have a ridiculously tough time with Bowser next round - I'm just being polite here, he's gonna lose. Still, it's not as many of us thought, that Tidus and Auron aside FF10 characters aren't worth that much. Thanks to the FFX-2 effect, it seems as though it's become one of the real major players in the contest, along the likes of Mario, Zelda, and FF7.

Well...all I can say is good job Rikku, she didn't let him gain during his peak hours and now Ryu is in the middle of the 'morning storm' of all things SF related. Still, he should at least finish above 56% when it's all done.
From: Heroic Viktor | Posted: 8/3/2005 6:05:45 AM | Message Detail
If this goes anything like Bowser/Chun Li, Ryu will have a difficult time staying over 55%. Rikku has the, ahem, assets to reign in more casuals, who are more likely to be voting during the next 6-8 hours than the hardcores, who are more likely to vote the first and last six hours of the polls. At least the American ones, where casuals will not be up from 3-9am.

Well if it means anything bowser's percentage was at it's max 10 hours in. From six hours in (around the time were at now) to 10 hours in he increased about 2.5%. Factor this into the fact that Rikku is behind, and bowser was doubling chun-li, and bowser being stronger with the day vote might be negated.

Ryu would need to have fallen a lot to make Rikku look weak. I think it's probably a bit of both. We'll need to wait until bowser vs. ryu to see I guess.

Wow, I can't believe it took ryu nearly 7 hours to get a 3,000 vote lead. I have bowser beating him in my bracket, and I've always been confident in that, but I thought Ryu would get around 60% this match at the very least.

Ryu will probably the lowest prediction percentage of the four also. :(
