Saying Akuma > Bison is like saying Dan > Ken.

Just because in general they are more popular with the hardcore fans (Akuma for being Akuma and Dan for being a joke character) doesn't mean they'd do better in a contest with casual people voting.

I know people that would say "Oh, he's pretty cool" if I mentioned Bison and would say "WTF?" if I asked them about Akuma.

And besides, Akuma is way too stereotypical and makes the whole bad guy thing way too serious, Bison is so much better. He uses "psycho" power! Come on, that's funny.

A few of them must be. The rest are probably people currently infatuated with Katamari Damacy or who wanted to make the Leaderboard with a character they like, similar to what Leonhart did with Squall. Of course, there are bound to be a few cases of people who legitimately thought The King would win.

I've got three reasons:

1. They hadn't thought that far ahead yet.
2. They believe Squall's status as Final Fantasy's second strongest hero will help propel him over Magus regardless of what Kriby does.
3. After all the surprises we've already seen this year, they know not to assume anything based on past contests without a grain of salt. Thus, what happened last year becomes somewhat less important.

I expect zidane to be at least at vivi's strength, and Terra to be at least a bit ahead of Kefka.

and i'm expecting Zidane to be nowhere near Vivi's strength. first of all, FFIX isn't liked nearly as much as most of the other FFs on GameFAQS. also, Zidane isn't nearly as lovable as Vivi. plus, Zidane really doesn't have much casual appeal in his looks, while Vivi at least has the black mage thing going for him. and when it comes to hardcore FFIX fans, Zidane is nowhere near as well-liked as Vivi.

i expect Zidane to fall somewhere between Cecil and Ramza. and that's without getting SFF'd by Crono, because i doubt that there would be any considerable amount of SFF in their match.



I can't wait til CATS stops wasting a spot. The only times his matches were worth a damn were in 2k2 (for the Flash vid, really) and sp2k5.

Thunder Thighs is pushing towards reversing the doubling, but I doubt she will make it before Ryu/Al Bhed hottie begins. If Squall beats Magus, I would be willing to bet my next paycheck that sidekicks will always be at a disadvantage when going against heroes. There is no doubt in my mind Magus is a stronger contestant than Squall, so the only reason he could lose would be whatever form of SFF you care to throw out there.

Is there any reasoning for why Chun Li is increasing, now?

About Zidane/Vivi, I'm pretty sure (but no positive), that there was recently a FFIX characer tournament. Zidane was in it the whole way, losing in the finals, where he still performed reasonably well. If that's the case on Board 8, I assume Zidane should be able to approach Vivi to the extent of almost being equal.
