Well, I'm fairly certain the Bowser in the background is fanart (it's been on my computer since I made the Nintendo desktop a few months ago), and I don't know if Ceej would go for that.

Interesting to see that the first 100,000 match not to feature Nintendo vs. Square was a match featuring Tidus. Good to see that, too. I really didn't expect this one to get so high.

I suppose Tidus is a character that people feel strongly about one way or the other, so he draws votes and anti-votes. That'd be my guess.

Perhaps if we were to categorize FF polls, fighting game polls, who's-your-champion polls, Sonic polls...most/any we can use in the stats.

Except that those polls have nothing whatsoever to do with the stats.

I know. I just think it's nice to see this after everyone was talking about an all-Nintendo boost with their vote drawing power, and then Tidus, of all characters, has a match break 100,000.

Of course they do. Even if they don't though, many of those types of polls are discussed alot within the topic, and almost everytime they're brought up, it's got a mention that it's just goin' from memory. From there, either we either argue about what people remembered about the poll until TRE lays the linkage down, or we go by somebody else's memory on something they're feelin' pretty vague about.

Even if you want to say they don't have anything to do with stats, they definitely have a part in the stats topic. It'd just make for alot easier referencing.

Do note that I don't think side-polls cost ALOT of votes in the position they're at...but when they were costing matches in the Game Contest close to 20,000 votes when they were placed above the actual match, I can believe they'd cost matches 1,000-2,000 votes in the spot they're at now.

It didn't hurt Ganondorf/Yuna, nor did it hurt Zelda/Vivi.

Not having one didn't help Kirby/Cecil either.

Unlike the games contest this poll is right beside the contest poll. People are more likely to vote for the character poll (unless they don't know/care about either character) and will take no more then 2000 votes away from it.

Are you implying that a percentage of GameFAQs' voters are actually goldfish?

I laughed. Regardless, are you denying that, out of the hundreds of thousands of hits GameFAQs gets a day (perhaps millions? Nah, better not go there), it's possible that 475 people voted in the middle poll and not the poll on the right? You don't even have to give me credit for the 1,000-2,000 votes I think have been cost; I just think it's unruly to think it couldn't cost less than 500 votes.

The solution for this is clear...
Tommorow, have a side poll asking voters:

During contest seasons, on average, which of the 2 polls do you vote in?

A. Yes, I vote in both polls, every day.(typical CJC straightdorward answer)
B. Only in the character battles. They rock!(typical CJC corny answer)
C. Only in this side poll. It's the one mainstay for the site. (typical pseduo-serious CJC answer)
D. Wha? What polls? (Typical CJC crap answer =/)

Let the paradox begin.

Oh yeah, I'm sure it could have managed to pull away 500-1000 votes per poll, as there are probably that many people who compulsively vote in the PotD regardless of the poll, but don't know the characters in a particular poll.
