Contest Stats and Discussion - Part 177

I wonder if Kirby well have blown out Cecil worse then Tidus blows out the king by the end of this. Kirby>tidus is looking a lot more feasable at this point.

By comparison, 20XXDF Tidus puts the King well under the VFL, at 18.39%. Think Ansem.

An acronym I don't recognize? Blasphemy!

What's VFL?

Vyse Fodder Line. If you score below Vyse, you count as fodder.

Vyse Fodder Line. Essentially, it's common consensus among many of us that Vyse is as weak as you can be and still be strong enough to be in the contest. You go below it, and you're fodder. Thus, Vyse is the fodder line.

Full comparison using three Tidus' in a minute.

Uhhh...Don't you think we ought to wait a bit before starting comparisons? We're less than 30 minutes in.

Then again, nothing's stopped speculation before, even when the end result turns out nothing like the first 30 minutes.

It should be noted that Tidus, in all likelyhood, will take the day vote (not necessarily impressively, though). Then, from there, Square is usually strong with the night vote, and Tidus can expand even further with the majority of Board 8's votes gone, heh.

Tidus can't seem to hold the king to under 33% for an extended period. At this rate Tidus isn't going to be able to break 70% until the morning vote starts and helps him out a great deal.

I've got Tidus over Bowser, myself...and I'm standing by it awhile longer; I'll wait and see how he's doin' in the morning and, more importantly, against Kirby.

Until then, I'm gone to bed...I'll leave another match-up though: Tidus or Dante, who wins?

Again, why is it so hard to accept a new character's strength instead of calling a character weak? I know people will turn to the stats and say, "well, that would put (new character) at this certain level, and I just don't buy that." But that doesn't seem objective to me at all.

Just looking at Link vs. Cats (I know you probably already have), after stabilizing at about 18%, Cats dropped 6%, which wouldn't be enough for the spread. To continue, KoAC is not Cats. Cats practically has the whole internet; KoAC only has a few boards of GameFAQs.
