Terra is going to get an FMV shot. So is Kefka. Whether you think that is good or bad is up to you, but they aren't going to get Amano art.

That's bad. The only time that Kefka did very well was when he had his sprite. FMV pics are going to hurt because I think most people played FFVI on the SNES, and thus, won't recognize them. She'll have to beat Dante on name recognition alone (much like Cecil today, and he isn't holding up very well).

King is a NPC in a game that gets insane board love. The problem is that this board love won't translate into thousands of votes

For the record, Tidus 2004 would be expected to get 75.34% on CATS. Tidus 2003 would be expected to get 80.49% on CATS.

So then the question is...Will the King be above or below CATS?

As far as the picture is concerned, that's about the best Tidus could have hoped for other than his picture from the FFX cover. I'm pleased.

I can't see many people voting for the King just based on his design. It's way too out there. Either way, Tidus deserves to crush somebody for once, and here's likely the best chance he'll ever get. Take advantage of it and quadruple him!

i like the comparison of the King to CATS. they should be very similar in contest strength. both are cult characters who are beloved by this board, but not very well-known elsewhere. plus, neither is much to look at (well, CATS' sprite, anyways.)

oh, and for the record, i don't think anyone mentioned it in this topic yet, but apparently Advent Children is being released in Japanese movie theatres on September 8th, almost a week before the PSP and home video version.
