Btw, does anyone has sales numbers for Katamari Damacy?
Or at least how does it compare to say, Grim Fandango?

KD I believe has sold somewhere around 150,000 copies.
Grim Fandango has sold close to 500,000 copies.

Katamari Damacy actually sold pretty well, due to word of mouth. Grim Fandango...did not.

Too verify I cant find an actual legit source, but Ive found two places
which say 450,00+ for Grim Fandango. It didnt sell well at first, but
apparently sales picked up after a while. A little too late for it.

Tidus better hope to get at least about 80% on KoaC if he wants to beat
Kirby... tripling an FF character is no easy thing to do.

absolutely kill KoaC. I think Kirby vs. Tidus will be pretty close.

I really don't think Tidus is going to have any great deal of
difficulty. I mean, it'll be close, but it won't be in question for
most of the match. That's the impression I've gotten from that match
since the moment I saw it.

Unlike Sora vs. Agent 47, it's impossible for me to imagine Tidus not
destroying The King. Agent 47 is a well liked star of a series that has
a few million copies under it's belt; King is a NPC in a game that gets
insane board love. The problem is that this board love won't translate
into thousands of votes. He'll lead for a minute then get thrashed.
Tidus with 80%.

And another Square bites the dust. Not surprised with Cecil though,
seeing his pic completely sucks and people probably have no clue where
he's from.
Nintendo is looking strong so far, though the first half of the bracket does feature the powerhouse Big N characters and only a few high end Square characters. (Auron) The Square powerhouses are all tucked away in the second half of the bracket.
Its is funny that the only way the most powerful Nintendo and Square characters can meet is in the finals, and only 2 will be able to...
I'm still looking forward to Mario/Samus cause that match will determine the championship really...
I'd kinda like to see Zelda make the Finals, actually...>_>

I think Ceej should redo the sprite pics so they have a Sprite and a
normal pic. Kinda like 2k3's sprite round, only not having the normal
pic in the background. Or maybe have an old-sprite and a current
in-game model in tandom, similar to the Link vs. Mario 2k2 final, only
with the 2 models to allow more room. Just a thought...

I think it's been said that GF outsold KD now...but I also wanna point
out that, unlike GF (I think), KD got commercials. That isn't exactly a
difference-maker here though, especially since I don't remember ever
seeing KoaC's face in the commercials, but it's worth noting.

Analysis
So the Nightmare division is the only division in this contest where the winner isn’t clearly known and three different characters could take it all. Some may say Bowser is a sure win because of the villains contest, but that contest was very wacky and both Ryu and Tidus both have a realistic chance on winning it. I personally have Tidus over Ryu as the finals, which from what I heard is very unique and only a few people on this board have the same. Today we have our first character who’s competing for the contest crown.
Wow what a match we have here. Here we have one of board 8’s favorite characters against board 8’s most hated character. You know what that means, overestimation of the favorite character! Even though KoaC has no chance to win what-so-ever, people would like to hope that he does a good job against Tidus.
Well here we have it. The weakest character in this contest, no it’s not Yuri or Agent 47 or even Jin like we thought. The board may love him, but there is no possible way he’ll escape at least a quadrupling. Katamari Darmacy is a much unknown game and is only really loved by the people who played it. Also KoaC isn’t even playable in the game and isn’t really that big in the story expect for the few minutes at the beginning. If he escapes placing in 66th or 67th place then I will be truly surprised and will honor him in my signature for one month (after the guru thing is over though).
Tidus is a really weird character. In 2k2 and 2k3 he was mostly the same and was high up in there and would be the favorite to take this division. Then he went against Mega Man in 2k4 and did really poorly. Something really weird happened on this match, I don’t know what happen, but something did happen. He was about 1% off from what he’s expected to get on Shadow in round 1 and I don’t believe that both of them went down by almost the exact percent. Tidus doesn’t even have to gain all of his percent that he lost; even if he only gains half as much as he lost he’ll be around Ryu and Bowser’s strength.
There is going to be a lot of whining for tomorrows match as the anti-Tidus and the KD fanboys are going to be in shock on the beating Tidus will give to KD. As for my last words, Tidus is like SSBM “he can lose in round 1 or make it to the Final 4”, but he’s not going to lose in round 1.

By this percentage, Tidus should blow away King of All Cosmos. I'd say charmander's prediction is close to what it will be.

Say what you will about Terra, but she's not gonna get a random devil robot as her match pic.
Cecil bombing does bear some relevance on Terra, but do you know what bears more relevance? How FFVI has actually performed in these contests!!
The game is the sixth most popular game on the web site, and if Terra is to Kefka as Crono is to Magus then she can beat Dante.* And that's not even taking into account Lettuce Kefka. FFVI has some contest power. FFIV clearly does not.
*Ulti, you were the one who said this, and now you talk about Kekfa being "pathetic?"

A Mario/Crono potential final could actually be pretty awesome this
year. If they do fight, it won't be predestined like the last couple of
years and they will have had to fight strong opponents en route to this
matchup. Besides, this matchup has basically been the defining moment
for the Summer Contest as a whole so would make sense that they face
off in the finals at least once.

I'm guessing the king well grab a quick 30% in the first seconds of the
match and readily drop the entire match afterwards. Kind of like Manny,
except I fully expect the king to drop even worse (possibly to about
10%). KD isn't exactly well known amongst casuals, and the pictures
I've seen of him lead me to believe e won't have much appeal amongst
anyone who hasn't played KD.

I wouldn't mind seeing mario win either, but he isn't going to SFF
Samus when link, the master of nintendo SFF wasn't even able to. If
mario wins it well be through legitimate strength. He has every chance
to increase enough to pull off a win, but this SFF everyone keeps
talking about isn't going to happen.
