so in tomorrow's match will the king have a 1 minute lead on tidus?
Five minutes, then things would be set right again.

I was actually hoping Cecil would've done better today, maybe losing
65%-35%, while Tidus wins tomorrow with over 75%. It'll likely be the
reverse tomorrow.

She seems to be going along for the ride moreso than leading the
party. I still say that the best possible thing that she could have is
to be what Yuna is to Final Fantasy X...
Isn't Tidus the one tagging along for the ride in FF10...?
Either way, Terra making the contest doesn't mean anything in regards to her being the lead. It's just the result of the board tossing aside 35000 superior characters from FF6 in order to find someone that would perform better than Kefka.

What, pray tell, does Crono have going for him other then the fact
that he's the lead of Chrono Trigger? He gets strength by virtue of his
association with CT alone. Terra's obviously not going to get the same
percentage of FFVI's support, but she doesn't need nearly as much to
beat Dante.
Okay. This is getting ridiculous now. A year ago, most people couldn't even determine who the MAIN character of FFVI is, let alone the most popular character. Now, people are boosting her up to be to her game what Crono, Cloud, Squall, and Tidus are to theirs? I don't believe that for one second. Terra isn't even the consensus favorite out of Final Fantasy VI fans. For the record, Crono being the lead character of Chrono Trigger isn't the sole reason for his strength. If Crono didn't have his looks, or if he weren't as strong as he is in battle he wouldn't nearly be as popular...
Outside of storyline, Terra does VERY little to be considered the main character like the other Square leads mentioned have. You start out the game controlling her, but as soon as Locke and Edgar join the party, she is overshadowed. Shes not the strongest in the party (at least initially) as Cloud and Crono have going for them. She seems to be going along for the ride moreso than leading the party. I still say that the best possible thing that she could have is to be what Yuna is to Final Fantasy X...

Oh, and unless Tidus completely obliterates the fodderlicious King of
all Cosmos tomorrow, Kirby/Tidus will be yet another round 2 hotspot
that comes out of nowhere. Think of it: in five successive days we have
Ganondorf/Auron, Snake/Zelda, Alucard/Sora, Kirby/Tidus and Bowser/Ryu.
Ouch.

If Tidus allows KoaC to avoid the doubling AFTER THE FIRST TWO HOURS,
much less the entire match, I'll be losing alot of confidence in Tidus
making the Elite Eight. Yes, I know new characters should hardly mean
anything, but this is one of those times where a doubling is simply necessary for Tidus.

Those sentences weren't really connected. I was just concluding by saying that I believe Terra will be to FFVI what Yuna is to FFX at best... I agree that they were just trying to find someone that is stronger than Kefka. The reason why people are trying to pull the whole hero/villain relationship is because Kefka sucks in these contests.

put anything into tomorrow's match. I could picture the king getting

I agree Tidus really should be gettin' alot more than a doubling...but
with how crazy some of our new-comers have been and how Tidus might not
be at his 2k3 level anymore, he's gotta at least show off with a
doubling, and hopefully beat KoaC noticably worse than Kirby's beating
Cecil (which is possible).

Yes, it is strange. Kerrigan is by far the most nominated character by the board and gets a 4. Terra is in the top 5 and gets an 8. KoaC is nowhere in sight and gets... a 5? Maybe there is quite a bit of casual support for the King.
Hey, I just got an idea. King of Red Lions vs. King of all Cosmos. Who wins?

I feel stupid analyzing anything involving katamari damacy, but joke
votes, anti-votes and picture votes could do any number of things to
tomorrow's percentage. I can just imagine someone seeing the king's

CJayC won't let him. The most accurate seed CATS has ever had, villain contest notwithstanding, was in 2002 with a 13, and normally you don't win from a 13-seed. CJay's seedings have improved a lot since then, and I don't think we're going to see Serious Sam-like seeding again.

I thought the nominations were mainly for board 8, I didn't notice a call for nominations on the front page. The King is VERY popular on this board and that boosted him to a 5, heck, he probably could've been much higher.
I do agree it's surprising that Kerrigan and Terra didn't get higher than they ended up getting considering the push they got from this board.

Ahh, I just didn't notice it.
The King's from a cult game that I don't think too many people that casually visited this site have even played. He probably just got that strong enough of a push from this board to get a high seeding. I wonder how close the difference was in nominations between the King and Terra were.

If you're only counting the board, Terra wins, and big. The only FF6 character front-page visitors would consider nominating is Kefka, because in the end he stands out a lot more than any playable character. And he kicks more ass than any of them, too. ;)

Ya know, I just thought of an easier comparison to make myself feel
alot more certain about how tomorrow should go: while I would have done
it with much more certain thoughts yesterday, I would still take Cecil
over KoaC. I also still stand by my pick of Tidus-over-Kirby.
Therefore, Tidus should beat KoaC worse than Kirby's beatin' Cecil.
There...now I feel better, heh.

Edgar is where it's at. A king, an engineer, and a ladies man. What more could you want from a character? Plus he weilds a chainsaw, a crossbow, AND the Atma Weapon. It should be a no-brainer if any of you had any class... (-_-)

it may be way to early to ask but does anyone think cjayc will
reinstate the tournament of champions characters next year to the main
bracket?

Probably not, especially if Samus beats Sephiroth.

I have some serious doubts if Terra can beat Dante anymore, but that
has more to do with the larger vote totals than anything. When Cecil
would get beat by ULTROS, no I dont think he accurately represents
anything that will happen to a FFVI character.

I'm having a hard time deciding whether or not Tidus will be breaking 75% against the King tomorrow -- for the spread betting. I have a feeling he isn't going to be able to do it...
I feel the same way. It's hard for me to see Tidus break 80% on anyone. I was right with Sora, but I just don't know about Tidus...
75% seems perfect....damn that Spread Betting.

I'm going to wait for the match pick to go up before I make my pick.

The only way the King can avoid being trippled is if the match pick is
Meg Ryan vs Bender. Because we all know, Bender is the the true King of
all Cosmos.

Explosions only seem to take place when actual upsets happen. Even Lloyd/Wesker wasn't so bad.

by the way in what state will this board be after
ganondorf/auron,snake/zelda,alucard/haley joel osment,kirby/tidus and
bowser/ryu. since i'm going to france soon it's likely i'll miss a few
of these matches but i would have loved to see how the board copes with
five super-hyped matches in a row.
