Which is a good argument when discussing well-known characters. I'm just getting this odd feeling that most Square characters pre-Chrono Trigger would suck in these polls. Ultros, Kefka, and now Cecil have all had their moment of being completely pathetic. Only Kefka has returned, which I can chalk up to FF6's strength. But I still don't think it will help an unrecognizable Terra (regardless of what match pic she gets, only a sprite would help her be recognized) defeat 1-seed post-DMC3 contest-experienced Dante.

By the way, Halo, Vice City, San Andreas (presumably), and Starcraft are all strong games. Their leads probably don't follow suit.

Man, Kirby's going to approach 80% by the end, I guess. I did not see that coming at all.

This is making me pissed...I never cared much for Cecil, but Final Fantasy IV was great.

Perhaps it's best that Golbez never got in, because he probably would've been humiliated too.

Anyone have that poll which asked which of the FFs was your favorite? FFIV probably didn't score so well in that. I can't remember how FF6 did though.

What, pray tell, does Crono have going for him other then the fact that he's the lead of Chrono Trigger? He gets strength by virtue of his association with CT alone. Terra's obviously not going to get the same percentage of FFVI's support, but she doesn't need nearly as much to beat Dante.

Only like 4 people in the Oracle Challenge had Kirby over 75%. Only about 14 had him over 70%. After-the-fact "this shouldn't surprise" doesn't apply to this. Cecil is bombing.

Should be? Terra would have to be a lot weaker then Kefka to be around cecil level. It's very hard to believe Kefka would be indirectly capable of doubling Terra.

Predictions for Tidus vs. King of All Cosmos fall in a wide range, because we have no idea what to expect out of KoaC. (not to mention that Tidus is volatile too)

KoaC could be incredily weak, or just be standard low-end fodder. I'm guessing he'll be real weak.

The point he was making is that a lot of people hate Squall and Tidus and they still do very well for themselves in these contests. I don't see any reason at all for Terra to be any weaker then Kefka.

I really don't understand what this match has to do with Terra. That's like looking at Squall (or Zidane later on who is in all probability a fair bit weaker) and assuming that's about the same strength Cloud well be at.

Kirby did increase a bit in the day in his matches against Kain and Squall. It wasn't a huge 5% increase or anything like that but he does benefit from the day vote.

This is quite plainly not true - he could never have beaten Magus if it were. Whether you like him or not, Crono obviously has a lot of appeal. It's highly doubtful Terra will have as much.
