Sora completely bombed in that match, personally. He barely broke 70% against a character with no name recognition despite having well over 85% of brackets behind him.

So what? Thats not gonna shake my faith in Sora. Whose to say Alucard didn't underperform against Kratos? Sure you can back up Kratos' rather good performance and say he's quite popular and such, but surely you can debate that Alucard has perhaps underperformed, can't you?

I don't think so. It'll be one of the closest matches in awhile, but remember kids, Riku lost to frog by a little over THREE THOUSAND VOTES! FROG! The guy that got 47% on Solid Snake(don't give me the "omg pic was da reason" thing either, it is what it is <_<), if Riku, whose basically a villain did THAT well, Sora can do good enough to beat Alucard.

People are overestimating all things Final Fantasy again. Hell, I just committed the same sin with my 60% Oracle prediction. Had I only asked myself "Who the **** is Cecil?" a few times, I probably would have bumped it up.

Not really. Final Fantasy VI is much, much more popular then IV. Terra should be leagues ahead of Cecil, anyway. Hell, it looks like Kefka is leagues ahead of Cecil.

This does make me feel good about Kirby > Tidus, even if there really isn't a reason to. Seeing Kirby pull in these numbers is nice.

He scored 48.61% on Snake, and the Snake pic was completely unrecognizable. Chrono Trigger characters tend to overperform when their sprites are used in match pics, anyway. I don't believe for a second that the entire Frog trio is as strong as the 2004 stats suggest. Only Master Chief has a shot at confirming his number, and that's because of Halo 2.

Just like Kirby is mauling a picture that looks absolutely nothing whatsoever like Cecil from Final Fantasy 4. It makes no difference what Kirby scores, because all Cecil has to go on is his name alone. I still think that Tidus will beat him comfortably.

I still think Tidus will win without much fuss, but I've just never trusted pic factor as something worth discussing. However, with the older characters, as memories fade, a recognizable pic certainly wouldn't hurt.
