He forgot the part where people get a tough match right and say it was painfully obvious all along. See: Ness, Zelda.

Except Zelda was obvious. I argued it from day one, but people kept telling me otherwise. I just o_O'D at everyone arguing with my logic and moved along.

Laguna and Irvine would be much better additions then fujin and raijin, that's for sure.

Well, those 2 idiots come with Seifer.
There's no point in putting Seifer there if they're not also in it.

But I'll agree that Laguna (and a few more of the usable chars) would be better than those 3.

Honestly though, I'm hoping for more FF VII chars, like Tifa or Vincent.
But at least Cloud is in it, so I guess I have nothing to complain.

Do the kingdom heart games have any pre-FF7 square characters in it? I haven't heard of any, but it would probably benefit from the insanity of kefka, the treasure hunting of Locke, and Kain Highwind along with Cecil.

A bit off topic, but I really like the screenshots Blizzard put up of the new Diablo II patch.

What a lot of people who don't play Diablo II don't realize is that Blizzard's major patches (which this is one of) are often like new expansion packs (it's not just something that fixes one or two bugs).

I think the Diablo II battle.net population tripled overnight when 1.10 was released. :)

Look at the 1.10 patch log and you'll see why:

http://www.geocities.com/lordofdabu/Patch.txt

Is an increase for Diablo in store? The rumored release date for the new patch is this Monday.

Is an increase for Diablo in store?

While possible, it makes little difference. Diablo beats Kratos than loses to Sonic. It would take a fairly large shift to bring Diablo over Sonic and things are already very grim for Kratos.

"Patch" is very misleading with many of Blizzard's releases.

It'll mean an increase in visits to Diablo II webpages, if nothing else.

And no, I don't think it would put him over Sonic, but I do think the numbers will show him doing considerably better than he did in the Spring, and after Wesker's performance I think people might be too quick to throw those statistics away instead of realizing the true reason for the The Lord of Terror's increase.

Don't listen to IGN, they are idiots. It's proven by the fact that they call Cait Sith "Cate and Sith" and say "In Dirge of Cerberus, you play as Vincent Valentine, one of the lesser known characters from the Final Fantasy VII world" which, if they knew FF7's fans, is completely untrue. Again, Vincent is so popular that when they decided he couldn't make KH because he used a gun the redesigned cloud to look like him.

Plus, more importantly, they also said "You normally view the action from behind Vincent's back" which in turn says "We said first person shooter to lure the idiots in here, because it's actually only a minor thing that you won't likely use much."

I'm sure the diehard fans love him, but amongst casual fans he is one of the lesser known characters.

Wallpaper'd

"Except Zelda was obvious."

Agreed.

"I don't think Amano will let anyone use his character designs,"

I highly doubt it'd be an issue for someone to redesign the characters if it were an issue. After all, Amano only did concept art and isn't the owner of the characters, a slight redesign (less extreme than Cloud, even) and the problem is circumvented if it even exists (which I doubt).

"The rumored release date for the new patch is this Monday."

There's no way in hell 1.11 is as big as 1.10 if they haven't be talking about it at all. Plus, 1.10 made a huge leap forward in items but they also spent like a year and a half doing it. Unless they've been working on 1.11 since 1.10 finished I don't think they can impress half as much.

"Once again... Its a PATCH."

The last patch was about half as big as the expansion in terms of new items and what not... the only thing it didn't add were new areas.

It doesn't have to be as big I don't think. Even if it were just a ladder reset, that would be enough. Obviously it's going to be a bit more than that.

There's no guarantee that it will be released this Monday, but odds seem pretty good if you noticed this:

And then again, I could be wrong about 1.11. A new demon? Additions to Tristram (something I've always wanted, since there's a huge dungeon there and all)? They must have decided not to announce it until they were actually done this time, considering last time. Maybe I'll play diablo 2 again if I can find my copy of the expansion.

Sora is definitely underperforming worse than Alucard did.

Doesn't necessarily mean so much, as we have no actual data to go by. But it could be cause for at least mild concern about Sora vs. Alucard.

Kratos should show that Agent 47 was underestimated as well. Both had recent PS2 games that are relatively popular. They both got their mugs all over commercials. It's not that farfetched to believe that "the guy from Hitman" is about as popular as Max Payne or "the guy from Splinter Cell"...
