I also believe Cecil might be overestimated. Kirby's never had a history of running up and over competition, but I think he'll take Cecil handily.

We'll see what kind of challenge the pink puffball can offer in the second round, and if he can help prove that this is truly a year of Nintendo powerhouses.

I'd assume people who like both characters would be more willing to pity vote the character that doesn't stand a chance rather then bracket vote the obvious winner. At least, that's what I'm doing.

I'll second that; for example, Mega Man's #1 in my book, but, in all likelyhood, I'll be voting for Conker. I do think that when both characters are felt as apathetic or disliked by the voter though, there'll be alot more likely chance to bracket-vote.

Hey, what's everybody's most anticipated Round 1 match for the remaining divisions?

I'd say:

Dream: Kirby vs. Cecil - we've only seen one decent old-school Final Fantasy character, so I'm excited to see how Cecil will do.

Flood: Kefka vs. Vercetti, of course.

Devil: Dante vs. Terra, for similar reasons to Kirby vs. Cecil.

Chaos: Luigi vs. KOS-, for obvious reasons again.

20XX: We don't know for sure where Ocelot or Pac-Man really stand.
