I got to thinkin' today, since Manny's from a point-n-click game, what point-n-click games I've played...and I realized that I've played a very select few, though I enjoyed 'em. In fact, I can only think of two I've played: The Dig and The Neverhood. Which brings me to this conclusion: I very well could try to start a rally for Klaymen from The Neverhood next year.

I can't compare him to Manny, seeing as how I've never played Grim Fandango, but Klaymen ROCKS. =)

you know, I don't think you could take the social aspect out of the stats topic; it has a life of its own and goes whereever it wants. plus, it'd be pretty boring if we just sat here arguing about numbers all day.

I love the TP speculation in here. you see a picture of Zelda with a sword and suddenly she's kicking ass and taking names and a playable character. I'd wait until the game's out before trying to gauge anything involving Zelda.

I'd take a metroid over Ridley, without question. Protoman beats Wily, too. I think Tidus could double Sora easily. and Luigi wins that whole pile of Nintendo/SSB characters.

I just noticed something weird about Lara Croft's numbers. In 2k4, they took a massive drop. Something seems fishy there. It seems to suggest overperformance by Zelda on Mega Man. Anyone feel the same way?

Ken took the same type of dive Lara did as a 15 seed, but nobody ever brings that up. The seeding could have definitely hurt them. Actually let me go look up the bracket support...

Ken dropped from 19.88% to 15.59% in terms of bracket support while dropping from a 12 seed to a 15 seed. Not much in those terms, but it must be noted that he was under Sonic who performed worse against Cloud than his 2k2 and 2k4 numbers would indicate. If that were the case, then Ken, Zero, and Aeris might also be underrated in the 2k3 stats and Zero MUST have had SFF against Mega Man (that's going off on a tangent though).

Lara Croft dropped from 38.28% bracket support as a 7 seed to 8.26% as a 15 seed. Now this would have MUCH more of an effect if bracket voting were the reason. Plus Lara probably has dropped in popularity as far as the contest is concerned.

Conclusion: I wouldn't put too much stock into Lara's drop when trying to determine Zelda's strength.

Considering Aeris barely missed the doubling, I don't see Tidus doubling Sora, period. However, from there, I wouldn't know what to guess the final percentages to be, though Tidus would definitely win.

Fox is the best SSBM character potentially. He has speed,power,recovery,psuedo spike at 11% (possibly lower but thats as low as I have gotten), combos. He is a beast in the hands of a master.

I doubt a Metroid would directly beat Ridley. I doubt that many Metroid fans like a Metroid better than Ridley. It would come down to the casuals that don't know Metroid. Even though they may be familiar with the Metroid by name, going up against someone with as appealing a character model as Ridley may not fare well for it.

A Metroid may perform better than Ridley indirectly because it would have the Metroid fanbase behind it AND the casuals familiar with the name. Yes, so I'm calling for an instance of REVERSE SFF!!!!

well, TV beat DK, albeit barely. Ness beat CJ 55-45. I don't think CJ and TV are that far apart strength-wise, so just by looking at those I'd take Ness over DK. throw in the fact that DK seems to be quite vulnerable to SFF (judging by Mario/DK, and if you wanna go there, Zelda/DK) and I think just about any Nintendo character could beat him.

Ness vs. Kefka would be an interesting match.

If you wanted a better example you should've used Crash. Being the favorite against KOS-MOS to have very little bracket support, but then again he dropped by like 1%.
