Contest Stats and Discussion - Part 171

We'll say unadjusted, since more and more signs are lookin' at that.

Hillary Clinton: We need to treat violent video games the way we treat tobacco or alcohol.
Lewis Black: Namely as valued contributors to our re-election fund.

Played all three Drivers... all were rentals. I too played very little of the main story, and just mainly did the "survival mode" in the second two. I can't remember a damn thing about Tanner. I'm not even sure if he had any dialogue.

I've played Hitman 2, and Agent 47 seemed kinda cool. I'd imagine if I actually played more of the game I'd be rooting for him over Sora (well, I'm still pity voting him, just because he has a good match picture).

Also if Vincent and Tifa are as strong as I think they are, then they should also be able to beat Snake.

There's silly Vincent talk, and then there's that kind of Vincent talk...

Jon Thomson - MARIO, Samus, SOLID SNAKE, Bowser, CRONO, Squall, Sonic, MEGA MAN

Through his unadjusted ranking, Snake would have gained 1.69% so far. One could attribute that increase to MGS3, of course.

Nothing wrong with thinkin' Vincent could beat Snake...now, I may disagree with it, but it's certainly feasable.

Uh, it's perfectly within reason to think that Vincent could beat Snake.

Especially since we haven't seen him in action. At this point, he can be anything from "flop" to "stronger than Aeris," and we have to remember that Aeris scored 47% on Snake. If Vincent performs up to his expected ceiling, he could very well give Snake quite a run.

What's wrong with what I said? All signs point to Vincent and Tifa being at LEAST as strong as Aeris no matter how somebody thinks they will do. There's nothing that shows that Aeris is more popular than those two. And if they are any stronger than Aeris, then they would have a decent chance at beating Snake.

Aeris is more popular because Vincent and Tifa don't spoiler.

But Vincent's getting his own game, and Tifa is well....going to probably pull an Aeris and barely lose to Sonic.

Yeah, well Aeris doesn't have big boobs and guns....

If you think her spoiler makes her more popular than others, then those reasons are perfectly feasible as well.

And Aeris being at the butt end of the most memorable spoiler at this website is reason enough to have an edge in popularity. Why do you think Sephiroth is so close to the main character of his game in strength? ><

Nope, nothing will fail as hard as Pluto Nash and Gigli, especially not a film with Vin Diesel in it. Look at The Pacifier or whatever, stupid ass film, yet it did ok in the box office, which was beyond me >_>

Ummmm... because he has a popular look, carries a huge sword, walks through fire, has one of the most memorable themes and boss music in a video game, and has the supernova summon that makes the fanboys go ga-ga? No... that couldn't be it... Damn.

Indeed, I'm surprised Pluto Nash didn't go straight to DVD. Seriously, I feel sorry for Eddie Murphy nowadays, but I guess he's just doing it for his kids and stuff. Still, sad to see a rather funny comedian go down the drain. In other news, we need more Kratos/Alucard discussion me thinks. The whole Gear Division seems to be focused on Vivi/Zelda, and round 2's Alucard/Sora match, but Alucard/Kratos has the chance of surprising me thinks. Kratos won't win mind you, but I think he will put on a rather unexpected performance, perhaps even make it something like say 42/58. Than again, I'm crazy <_<

Pretty much everybody who liked Hitman at all will be voting Agent 47 over Sora I'd have to think. Sora's not the worst character ever, but I can't see abandoning the underdog of a game I liked for him.

Guess he does have his fans out there... I really think that most of his support just comes from raw sales advantage, though.
