Pong over River City Ransom (which arguably had more whining than ANY match in the contest, including "SFII LOST?!")

RIver City Ransom IS A GREAT GAME!!! it really is....... but pretty much none of you guys have ever played and hardly any voters did either. RCR never should have lost to Pong. bleh. (fortunately i did have Pong in my bracket, though.)

in fact, i had a completely perfect 8-Bit division and the matches i missed were:

Earthbound vs. Doom
LTTP vs. FF6

SotN vs. Goldeneye
FF7 vs. OOT (i had little faith in OOT, but i was going for one of those upsets. bah.)

Starcraft vs. Halo
Starcraft vs. KH
Starcraft vs. WW
SSBM vs. FFX
SSBM vs. Starcraft

other than Starcraft (which i readily admitted could beat Halo) and SSBM and the stupid attempt to call an OOT upset, i did reasonably well.

I think Celes would be the strongest after Terra/Kefka.

Celes or Locke would be the next two choices, though I'm not sure where I'd place them yet. Celes would have a shot at outdoing Kefka; Locke probably not.

Since we're talking about FFVI characters and I don't think this was brought up, if Luca Blight was constant between 2k4 and Sp2k5 and Kefka/Wesker was due to the Angel pic, Angel Kefka is at an impressive 27.56% on 2k3 Link.

Actually, if Terra does well I think the first order of business is not to push Shadow, Edgar, Locke, Celes, or even Mog.

It's to push Terra more. Even with lets say a 40%+ casuals won't make a big deal out of it if she doesn't get out of the first round. As long as she doesn't I'd say 47%+ on Dante she's still going to need nominations from the board to get a respectable match in the future.

Why should we give Terra another chance if she disappoints against Dante, though? I'd rather just try out another one.

I'm still not sold that Terra's the strongest rep, and I'd put money that she's going to be below Kefka. Celes, Locke, and Edgar all have great shots of doing better, and I think Mog, Sabin, or Shadow could also possibly be more powerful reps.

I'm still not sold that Terra's the strongest rep, and I'd put money that she's going to be below Kefka. Celes, Locke, and Edgar all have great shots of doing better, and I think Mog, Sabin, or Shadow could also possibly be more powerful reps.

i am also still not sold that Terra will be the strongest rep. i stand by my longtime prediction that Shadow and Mog have the most potential, followed (in no particular order) by Sabin, Locke, Celes, Terra, and Edgar.
