By "final boss", I obviously meant BFA, not Yu Yevon >_>

Speaking of which, you know that Locke/Rachel scene in FF6? That still gets me every time.

Yeah, taht scene is always painful to me. Though Locke/Celes are my favorite couple.

Leon, you really hit the nail right on the head. That scene would be infinitely better if it were Cloud at fault. It may have given the entire trio some actual character if followed up correctly.

I don't think I've ever cried at a game. it's nothing macho or any of that crap, they just don't move me that way. the games that would be most likely to make me cry are shadow hearts 1 or 2, probably. top-notch stuff there.

I think I'd take Big Boss over CJ just because of the franchise they come with. GTA hasn't impressed me lately, let's put it that way. of course, I haven't played either.

Screw Cloud. It would have been better if ZACK did it. And then Tifa had hot, furious sex with him. THAT would be godly.

I don't cheer Sephiroth on in anything, except dying. He can die all he wants, but the little bastard is making sure to comeback two years after he was killed.

And Aeris is awesome so we need none of that. <.<

I cheer Sephy on these days, but when I first played the game, that scene hit me pretty hard even though I knew it was coming. It wasn't the event so much as it was the music. That's one of the saddest themes in gaming.

I can play Aeris's Theme on piano. It sounds beautiful.

Games I cried for...

-The ending of FFVIII on the Laguna/Raine scene, the only thing the ending was good for
-FFVII's *spoilers* scenario, where the music is just overwhelming to me
-Secret of Mana... either at the Mana tree or the ending; it was so many years ago.

I can't think of any other game.

Aeris's death didn't really affect me. Probably because I didn't think to much of sepiroth, and disliked her character.

The Laguna/Raine scene in FFVIII's ending is beautiful. That's the point where the music reaches its climax and it all just flows together wonderfully.

Heh, has anyone ever seen that picture of faceless Squall in the FFVIII ending?

Hell, the ending of the game, too. Saying Bye to Tatl and Tael, Link riding off continuing his search, the festival going on like nothing happened and Link getting no recognition from the citizens of Termina.

So touching.

Tenpenny really is one of the best villains ever. I've never wanted a villain to die as much as him. The multiple way he torments Carl and even tells him he had sex with his mothers corpse... He's a sick twisted villain that Samuel L. Jackson pulled off brilliantly.

Agree'd. Tenpenny was such a bastard it's not even funny. Very few people could make a character as easy to hate as Samuel L. Jackson did with Tenpenny.

No crying involved, but the Aeris scene did hit me like a brick to the head even after being spoiled. I used to be upset that I was spoiled to that scene, and after I finally commited myself to fully playing the game (first 3 attempts I never made it past Costa del Sol) it was still a powerful scene (since I love Aeris and all). Since then I've learned that spoilers like that aren't bad at all... in fact, some similar scenes have actually proven to be more potent after I knew they were coming. There's a completely unrelated death scene in an anime that got me worse on repeated viewings than the first time. Probably because the first time I was in shock at what happened and after that I was able to just be sad instead of surprised.

Off the top of my head, I've cried during Lufia, Lufia 2, Terranigma, Breath of Fire 2, Tales of Symphonia, LoZ:Link's Awakening, Star Ocean and FF3us/6j. Probably a few others I'm forgetting. Heh, I'm a sucker for for any video game scene that is remotely sad.

Yes, the ending for Lufia 2 is a very powerful scene. A friend of mine cried at that. I didn't, though on a replay I likely would. The whole shock surpressing emotion thing and all.

As of the 2:05 mark, here are some vote total comparison since I know some people were interested.

Auron/Big Boss - 8,063
Ganon/Yuna - 9,320
Samus/Yuri - 8,075

Doesn't look like the newer Square can get those high vote totals by themselves.

For those who think vote totals have a strong relation to strength:
2:15
Ganondorf had 6003 votes against Yuna
Auron had 5802 votes against Big Boss

Currently Ganondorf has more votes against a much stronger opponent. Auron should take the lead sometime later in the day though.
