Hell, some expected an all Zelda Final Four, to which it ironically came down to a No Zelda one...

Heh, I only had two in the Final Four...but I had FF7 beating three different LoZ games. I guess that evens out.

3. Vincent vs. Magus. To verify how strong the FF7 train is. If Vincent beats Magus, it would pretty much confirm that FF7 >>> ANYTHING else Square.

I also look forward to it, though I think what would confirm FF& >>> ANYTHING would be Vincent's match after that, heh.

Yeah...Yuna is definitely getting past 38.5% before this is over...

10:34 PM Central Time:
Ganondorf 61.51% 61065
Yuna 38.49% 38218
TOTAL VOTES 99283

No doubt.

For proof that FF IX isn't all that mainstream, just look at Kuja.
He lost to a joke entrant.

To quote Chichiri: "Goddammit. Stop ruinning my stats topic. I don't care who doesn't like who, I don't want to hear it. All of you consider yourselves blacklisted if you don't knock this crap off, no matter who you are or what you've done." Now, in a different topic, I'd probably read it...but here, let's drop it please. I'm not gonna say another word about it in this topic now.

Time for some ramblings.

If this is Ganondorf being overrated, then Bowser > Snake and Ganondorf > Auron aren't looking so hot and anybody > Sephiroth is. Squall > Magus looks more passable but I still don't think it's happening. And Kirby > Tidus still looks good, that's about the only thing that I can find that's good for my bracket.

If Yuna is increasing, and that's what it likely is, there's mixed results there. On the plus side, it demonstrates that being the main character helps a lot, despite what kind of main character you are, which makes Terra look all the better. On the downside, this could mean new Square is stronger again, which would hurt my bracket.

Or it could all just be TJF.

Heh, if this is all Yuna increasing, she would beat Knuckles now with 50.03%.

If this is all Ganon being overrated, he falls to 30.69%, which is right below Bowser, so that's not likely.

Let's assume Yuna got an approximate 1.5% increase, moving her up to 25.16% on Link. Ganondorf falls to 32.64%, which is really close to the value you get by adjusting him by 2003 Alucard.

I can't imagine anyone having Yuna as a favorite after playing FF X-2, but that could've been just me.

But if this is all Yuna increasing, not Ganon being overrated, then I'd say it's quite surprising.
Considering the general reception of FF X-2 among most FF fans I know.

To comment on Zidane/Crono SFF, let's look at some other Square vs. Square matches...

Sephiroth vs. Vivi - Vivi at 93% of normal strength
Cloud vs. Auron - Auron at 85%
Squall vs. Cloud - Squall at 80%
Crono vs. Kefka - Kefka at 73%

The way each character was SFFed seems rather reasonable, in my opinion...

I say Luigi's level is a good estimate for Zidane. So...if that's true, Crono's constant with last year, and no SFF occurs Crono wins with 68.35%. With Seph/Vivi-style SFF Crono wins with about 70.5%. With an amount equal to Cloud/Squall, Crono wins with about 75%. With an amount equal to Crono/Kefka, Crono wins with about 77%. I'd consider Zidane being SFFed as much as Squall (against Cloud) pushing it...so hopefully Zidane will avoid the tripling.

I think Zidane can avoid being doubled, as long as he doesn't get SFF'd. I have higher expectations of him than nearly everyone else though.

You're expecting too much out of the poor little monkey.

I don't think he'll be tripled, but he'll need quite a miracle to avoid a doubling.

it seems rather odd that we don't have any new square/old square matches. no Kefka/Auron, no Magus/Squall (cough), not even Cloud/Crono. I'm assuming he'll get tripled, which is unfortunate. Luigi sounds like a good spot.

Heh, I thought about that a little bit as I made that post...but then I found that if I used someone like Vercetti or Knuckles...well, they're in the 20XX division. But, regardless, I think Zidane is a bit above Ramza at worst. Whatever, I just didn't want to him overestimate him with my calculations. :P
