Also Gordon has a generic name (like Sam Fisher and Lloyd Irving), thus making him less recognizable.

And I'm expecting Leon to triple Gordon.
Jill (2k4) is projected to get around 73% (I think, correct me if I'm wrong). And Leon got a boost from RE4. Not to mention he is considered the most popular character in the series.

60/40 only puts Leon at 18.38%, between Conker and Crash, and still way off Jill.

Man, Frog's lead has been from 2800-3000 for 7 and a half hours now. Talk about holding the fort, heh.
Still, the night vote should be kickin' in soon.

Which is why I love GFNW. I still wish Gordon would have faced Jak though; the people being swerved on this board would have been great.

just bring Frog down below 51%.

Yeah, HM named three of us as the three crazies (me, and I think you and FastFalcon).
actually, it was me, you, and MasterMage, HaRRicH. =P
and for the record, i believe that me and MasterMage were about the only two guys to take Master Cheif over Frog, too.

Bah, two out of three ain't bad, heh. As for Frog/MC, I remember being
a very big advocate of the match being a barnburner, though I kept with
Frog. Heh, I did more arguing for MC in that match than anything else.

before playing Chain of Memories, i would have said there was no way
that Riku was more popular than Sora. but afterwards, i do believe it
as a possibility. but, i still stick with my prediction that both Sora
and Riku recieved a boost over where they sat last year (or where Riku
would have performed). i believe CofM sold 750,000 copies or so, so it
did give both Riku and Sora plenty of exposure on a new system.

Well, he was supposed to be able to challenge Samus.
Granted, after the match with Ratchet, the odds of him breaking 70% against Squall were highly unlikely, but still.

Analysis
Our first Nintendo vs. Square match of the contest. Unlike last year this is only the seventh match and we’re going to see another one in a few more days too. After taking a break from 2k3 Yuna is back and ready to try and get out of round 1. Can she do it? Well... no, but this match can tell us a lot. Also you may notice the ranking Ganondorf got in 2k4, that was because he was badly SFF by Link and after you adjust him he’ll rank 10th.
During the long break Yuna took, she stared in a new game called Final Fantasy X-2. Some people may not like the game so much and it wasn’t as good as Final Fantasy X, but it’s a game and Yuna will gain some kind of an increase. Then again I don’t see her gain more then a couple of percent since most people that bought the game most likely already had FFX.
Now as you may know the most wanted Gamecube game that is coming out this year is the new Zelda game. This may not help Ganondorf as much as it helped Link or will help Zelda, but I do believe that Ganondorf will get some kind of increase as well. If Ganondorf was in Solid Snake’s division this year, he would be a very good upset against Snake.
Another thing that I should mention is that Ganondorf performed rather well against Sephiroth in the finals of the villains contest. I personally think Sephiroth got weaker that year, but it could also mean that Ganondorf meet half way and grew some strength. Even if that was true I would have to point to my last paragraph about his increase from the new Zelda game.
There’s also been talk that this could be the first match to break 100k since both characters are good and it’s a Nintendo vs. Square match. Sadly I don’t think that we’ll break the 6th digit tomorrow since hype for this match isn’t really that high. If a Nintendo vs. Square match was going to break 100k it would probably be Vivi vs. Zelda.
In 2k3 if this match were to happen we were to expect a 66/34 match, but since then two years have passed and things have changed for both characters. Many people expect a doubling is in store, but if that was to happen tomorrow I wouldn’t expect it to be that much higher then 66.66%.
charmander6000’s Bracket: Ganondorf Dragmire over Yuna
charmander6000’s Prediction: Ganondorf wins, 64.71% - 35.29%

heh, there's still actually 14 different characters out of the 59 left represented as someone's champion in the Top 50:
Mario - 21
Crono - 11
Megaman - 4
Solid Snake - 3
Samus Aran - 2
Squall Leonhart - 1
Vincent Valentine - 1
Sonic the Hedgehog - 1
Vivi - 1
Bowser - 1
Kefka - 1
Diablo - 1
Kirby - 1
Dante - 1
i wonder how many of those single reps will fall after today. oh, and i am still a bit surprised that the statistical favorite, Samus, only has 2 picks on the Top 50. sheesh.

Ganondorf will double Yuna. According to the all-time stats, Diablo is
higher than Yuna. And we all know what Ganondorf did to Diablo.

I say Yuna gets at least 37%, but I'm just going against the curve in every match, just to be bold/different/something similar.

Fact. Riku's still gaining percentage, even during this fabled Chrono Trigger night vote.

Fact, in all likelihood. Frog only gained 300 votes on MC over the same time period, and that's not enough to get him over 52%.

Fact. I'm pulling for Riku to finish with over 49% (though that's probably fiction)

Riku 48.27% 41802
Frog 51.73% 44802
TOTAL VOTES 86604
The lead hits 3000 again. Let's see if Frog can actually expand on it this time.

Vivi with ease; Ness, at his peak adjustments, is about equal to Donkey Kong. Vivi beat DK with about 56.5%.....
