Contest Stats and Discussion - Part 166
From: Sir Crono | Posted: 7/24/2005 6:54:29 PM | Message Detail
Well, Samus IS a beast. It's just that Sora's really close to Aeris as is, and the possibility of him going any higher means we get dangerously close to rSFF against Aeris.

It does seem weird though. I'd think MC would get 55+ on Riku, without knowing where he fits. Something seems amiss about today's match, increased vote totals or not.

There's always Tifa and Vincent...

I must admit, I always wondered how the hell could Riku not only get in, but with a 4-seed to boot. Hint hint.

Well, we've still yet to see Zidane, Terra, Rikku, or Chun-Li in action. Riku's number looks hard to top though.

I was seriously considering nominating Riku, but I decided I had better characters to give my nominations too. I didn't think he had any chance to get in at all. Now, not only does he get in, but he turns out to be a high-level midcarder, and possibly stronger then his hero. Damn, Riku you've done good.

Actually, this match is looking good to break 90,000 now. Ganon/Yuna is definitely the match to break 100k, methinks.

Something tells me Fisher would win that. I think he's underrated by the stats and wouldn't be too surprised to see him give DK a semi-decent match. Then again, he did need the morning vote to get the lead over Gordon . . .

Max Payne. He beat Freeman by a bigger margin than Fisher, and the rest just suck ass.

I'm curious to see if Gordon could beat Tina now. Half-Life 2 VS whatever new DOA games are out now. I think Tina could still edge out another win.

The only problem is that Half-Life is almost all about the game, like most FPS. Gordon shouldn't reap much of a benefit from it.

Master Chief actually has a personality though. He's different.

Gordon Freeman is just...there. I don't think they actually show his face in any of the games. Just the cover and official art of the game.

From: MegatokyoEd | Posted: 7/24/2005 7:33:04 PM | Message Detail
Well the main thing people said was that nobody even knows who Gordon is. In HL2 they say his name about every minute so that should atleast help get his name out there.

...You're kidding me, right? He's the star of the two most popular Resident Evil games.

And even Jill Valentine in 2004 would beat Gordon 70/30. It's just not happening.

In Halo 2, you actually see Master Chief and you see him talk, etc. In the HL series, you don't even get to see Gordon or hear him talk. Maybe that's why he's been losing so many times...
