Even in Snake's strongest year (2k3), he still wouldn't get 40% on Sephiroth. And it doesn't even matter if Sephiroth was overrated or not against Cloud because Snake is directly connected to him through Mega Man.

So even if you don't take into account Snake's drop in 2k4, Bowser still has a great chance to win the match. Of course Sephy may have lost some popularity, but if you think that the Spring contest is a fluke, then feel free to think otherwise....

Even if you think the Spring Contest was a 'fluke,' it isn't as though Bowser is far behind Snake to begin with. Snake's projected to beat Bowser in 2004 with 53.14% -- which is the full adjustment for Snake and Bowser given his 2003 value from his SFF match with Mario.

Why would they have to ignore the sprite? I can't see why they wouldn't be able to see both.

It's the same crappy sprite for Snake, with 2003 being have some of his 'face' in the background. I honestly don't see how they are that much different, especially to cause an underperformance of proportions that people like to speak of. Snake, with a great picture, underperformed in two other of his matches.

I don't see why you're getting this excited.

If it was a 400-500 lead, yeah, go Riku. But it's already past 1200.

Unless you're all just happy that Frog is possibly slightly weaker than expected, then it's no real cause for celebration.

It's not like Riku will be the same as Master Chief with the day vote.

It's not like Riku will be the same as Master Chief with the day vote.

It isn't as though people are saying he'll take the lead, but he'll definitely be bringing that percentage down a ton before the match is over. Kingdom Hearts has proven to do exceptionally well with the day vote while Chrono Trigger has shown to be horrible with the day vote.

Even though the Snake sprites are similar... his pic just looked much better in 2k3. It might be that jungle background, but his pic against Frog really DOES look like ****.

I think Frog will drop to 54.5%-56% and then climb back up to 55.5%-57.5% by the end.

As for Riku's strength, outside of Frog being "anomalous", a large number of posters in this topic did expect Riku to be more powerful than expected; and to not be that far off from Sora.

I don't really know how prominent Riku is in that game, though I think we can be confident Sora should be at least a few points ahead of Riku. But it's not far-fetched that Riku is fairly close to Sora.

Unadjusted stats have Frog at about 34% on Samus; adjusted have him at 38% on Samus. I myself think he'll be above 34%, not so much because of adjustment, but because Frog's fanbase does seem loyal ;) This could cause "overperformance", all else being equal.

More like Master Chief style, as Frog was never up by that much over Liquid outside the first five minutes.

It would seem to almost be destined actually, given both Frog's and Kingdom Hearts' notorious history and reputations :)

this is interesting. you never know what's going to happen when KH is involved. this makes me pleased about Sora > Alucard and worried about Snake > Bowser. I get the feeling we're gonna have a couple more voter shifts before this thing is over, and I wouldn't be amazed if we finish right where we are right now.
