For two lesser characters, the vote totals are pretty good I would say.

While I agree, just to compare to 2k3 vote totals, there wasn't even one match in 2k3 that fell below 91,000 votes (the only two that were close were Magus/Fisher and Max/Gordon). Today's match is struggling for 85,000.

I don't think anyone quite expected on par with 2003 for the most part. I'm just glad they're remarkably better than 2004, when a match like this might have had trouble breaking 70k.
