I'd go with his 2002 value, personally. It sounds insane, but it's the one that looks most like what his strength actually is these days.

Link 2k3 is a much more stable number because due to SFF and Crono increasing, Link's only match where we might of gotten a true judge of his strength is Cloud.

Take Character A's extraploated ranking relative to the champion that year. Multiply it by x. Subtract Character A's extraploated ranking relative to Link 2k2 from the previous year. Square the result. Repeat with all other returning characters. Add up all the results. Find x so the final result is as close to 0 as possible. I believe that's it, someone should correct me if I made a mistake.
