Contest Stats and Discussion - Part 159
From: UltimaterializerX | Posted: 7/19/2005 10:14:47 PM | Message Detail
The key didn't work, did it? I thought that might be the case. So I just invented this "Machine that Opens Doors, especially when you have a slightly bad key." Sorry for the inconvenience.

Ness used Ruler! Now, he can figure out the length of things easily.

Ness used Protractor! Now, he can fairly easily figure out the angles of various things.

Don't you think my eyebrows rock?

The fad for the early parts of this topic will be EB quotes. It is inevitable.

Explanation of Extrapolated Standings:
http://sc2k5.com/drupal/node/11

Simple Explanation of Extrapolated Standings:
A = Strongest Character
B = Character Weaker than A
C = Character Weaker than B
To figure out a character's Xsts Percentage ---> [(CvB)(BvA)]/50 = CvA
To compare how C would do against B ---> [(CvA)/(BvA)]*50 = CvB
To figure out how B would do against A ---> [(CvA)/(CvB)]*50 = BvA

Don't stand too close to me... I just farted, heh heh...

The New Age Retro Hippie used Toothbrush to brush his teeth and now his teeth are all shiny and clean and the whiteness from his teeth caused Ness to go blind! Ness's Guts -1!

YOU GOT SOMETHING TO ME SELL TO ME ZING BOING DOING?

Everyone calls me evil, but the zombies are worse. I left my wife and kids at home to run away from the zombies. That's how evil they are.

Wow, so the "Zombie Paper" really worked. I wish there was "Girl Paper".

CJ looks so ****ing generic in it, nothing like the one for his char description.

Mario's Path to Victory: Round 1 - (8) Joanna Dark
From: steve illumina | Posted: 7/19/2005 11:10:30 PM | Message Detail
As he walks the path of life...his name is called for..chanted by those, his fellow Elites, his equals, who know the power of his prose...as the noobs, fanbabies, and nerdboys cower in the darkness...afraid the truth of their blind loyalty will be brought forth before their judgment clouded eyes...

He answers the call with a tip of his BoSox cap...draws forth his pen to compose the very column that has increased Stats thread readership by 23.39%... He is...

The Sage of Board 8, Steve Illumina

Hahahaha, greetings gamers the world over...the time has come to write once more...be afraid kiddies, be very afraid indeed...

And so for 2005 it begins, in the 'Shiitake' Mushroom Division..

(4)Ness vs (5)Carl Johnson

Steve's Pick: Carl "Big" Johnson
Fanboy-O-Meter: Favors Ness!
Upset Odds: It will be an upset, technically...
Match Fun Factor: 7/10: Damn decent...but Thanatos vs Carl would have been closer! :)

Comments: This match allows for me to take 2 angles, but since one of the angles involves the controversy surrounding the projected winner's game series, I will save that for his round 2 match with The King, instead focusing on bashing the fools who wasted a nomination on this worthless dated RPG hasbeen who cant win a match against anyone...and that, my loyal readers, is eggboy Ness...

I say it every time, and I will say it again...what is the matter with peeps anymore? I am all about loyalty to characters, but this goof? A one game, one semi-hit wonder from 15 or so years back gets in??? But guys like Shadow the Hedgehog, Goro, and Palmer get left out??? Rubbish!

Determined to get to the bottom of this farce, I enlisted the help of the Pinkerton Detective Agency, who did a phone tap on Ceej's phone. Here are the results:

"ring ring"

Ceej: Hello

???: Yah, this is 'Mr. U', and you know what I want...

Ceej: Ummm??? Money?

???: No, I want my boy Ness in the contest. Rig the noms, kick Bomberman out...do what you have to. Just get my boy in.

Ceej: But..but..he is a loser... He cant win a match...he is like CATS II or something...

???: I dont care. Ness gets in, or else...

Ceej: Umm..ok...but...

???: No buts! *click*

And so the mysterious Mr. U made the call and Ness, RPG jobber that he is, got in. And yes my loyal fans, he will lose yet again...and I will delight in it!

Prediction: CJ busts a cap in that egg shaped rear of jobber boy Ness by a decent margin thanks to the casual voters, and in so doing breaks the hearts of dated fanboys still trapped in the late 1980's playin Earthbound on their dusty old Super NES's...

Quote of the Day: "It aint the programming..its a hacker...really..umm..yep" -Rockstar reps

Ness is approaching the 200 vote lead. if this lead breaks 1000 by the time i wake up tomorrow, i will curse CJ and all things GTA for sucking exponentially. i really thought being the #1 game in America right now would put CJ over the top. i guess we'll see if the day vote goes any better, but if i remember correctly, Vercetti lost the day vote to DK, so that's not a good sign.

also, how many brackets do you expect took CJ, anyways? i'm guessing that a good 70% at least went with him. the perfects could get whittled down pretty quickly this time around.....

I'm thinking the same thing. It seems to coincide with anything mainstream that isn't square or nintendo doing terrible with the early vote.
