I don't actually buy megaman/link SFF myself, but this would make more sense then that does. I'm not saying it's huge, but I'd say there is enough going on to create a small shift in percentages. Maybe 5% or so swinging in mario's favour. This isn't to say he's weaker or stronger at all since we have no idea where joanna stands to begin with.

If Joanna is say... 3% stronger than JC Denton, which I think is plausible. Where would that put Mario on 2004 Samus?

Considering just about everyone seems to be in agreement that Square in general was weaker in 2004, I don't see why higher vote totals don't favor them moreso than anybody else.

I know, but he was just saying because of the pace this match is at right now, and things are looking like Mario boosted, that the higher vote totals would help Nintendo for some reason.

I'm not saying it's going to happen, but I would love it if it did.

If Joanna is at 15.57 on Link, then Mario is at 39.61, about 1.5 points higher than 2004. However, he still loses to Crono at that level, though it'd be more back on the "toss up" level.

Actually, if you look at last year's bracket, all that would do bump Mario over Crono and leaves without the nailbiter that was Jill/Ryu. The next closest Nintendo loss to not another Nintendo character was Kirby and Squall with still 9k+ difference between them.

Agreed. Anytime someone underperforms and theres any sembelance of similarity in games/genres SFF gets called upon quicker than my Dodgers bullpen this year. =(

Holding him not in the vote lead, but in increasing in percentage. There's on possible way I could see Mario remaining the same from tonight through tomorrow morning. His strongest time has never been during the night. Joanna shouldn't be much different at any time.

I certainly did not say or imply that this applied to every character, or every fodder character. There are certainly those who would be different. But I wouldn't expect Joanna's strength, or ability to gain votes, during the night to be weaker than her ability to gain votes during the day.

It's a shame that the auto-updater wasn't around to catch PD/SotN...but it's worth noting that Goldeneye made some type of percentage gain during the late morning/afternoon hours against all three of its opponents, including Ocarina of Time. IMO, Joanna has a fair shot at picking up a little bit of ground percentage-wise as the day wears on.

Day and Night voting doesn't always make logical sense. A character could have a really weak night vote and thus a really strong day vote just because they do.

A character could have a really weak night vote and thus a really strong day vote just because they do.

And the opposite is generally true for Chrono Trigger. They dominate the night better than anybody, but they suffer during the day for it.
