I just now got in, heh; the birthday boy had to make some boys weep in poker tonight. =)

http://www.gamefaqs.com/shared/sum05/b01.jpg

I don't wanna vote for her all that much now, heh. N64 Joanna >>> 360 Joanna...though I'm still likely gonna pity-vote her.

Darkstalkers isn't obscure in the US at all.

That's VERY debatable, but I'm too apathetic about that subject to get into it.

As for the sales figures, what makes Vice City all the more impressive is that, unlike Mario 64, it wasn't packaged with the system, and recieved astronomical sales while being rated M.

Don't think it was EVER packaged with the N64...though, to be fair, Mario 64 was a launch game; Vice City wasn't.

[Ulti/Leonhart wars about Magus/Squall]

Still cracks me up.

Darkstalkers isen't obscure, you want obscure? Look at Red Earth or Plasma Sword.
From: FrostHarpy | Posted: 7/18/2005 9:55:31 PM | Message Detail
Darkstalkers is obscure when you compare it to Street Fighter, and the only character the casuals seem to know about is Morrigan, who had just had to be overused when Demitri was clearly the main character and the sequels were called Vampire Hunter/Savior/whatever.

The final BOP results are now uploaded, I trust you all know where by now.

Kefka stunk it up so much in the closing stages, he doesn't even have the best odds among first round losers anymore - that goes to Kerrigan.

It makes sense though... Both of those examples show support that makes Bowser strong in the minds of bracket makers...

You forgot JoJo's Bizarre Adventure... I picked that game up for the Dreamcast from Best Buy for $5. I was pleasantly surprised.

And about Bowser... it's not favoritism that has me picking him over Snake and Ryu, although he is one of my favorite characters. I just don't think we had enough data on him to determine his strength before the spring contest. I'm fairly confident that the Spring contest was legit. I also believe that Snake would lose a battle if he were in a close match. The same goes for Ryu. I would give Bowser the edge in most close matches that he has....

I don't buy how close Bowser and Ganon got to Sephiroth (though I'll accept Sephiroth's other performances), though I do buy the gap between the two. Ryu, while very strong and as consistant as anybody, isn't someone who I think would get that close to Ganon.

Yeah, I'm not gonna be taking his match against Sephiroth at full face-value...but I do think he got closer to Ganon, which, depending on what other factors come into play, should hopefully be enough to put him over Ryu.
