I would wager that Link and Mega Man share more of a fanbase than Link and Sonic.

I would also wager that Link and Mega Man are far more likely to share a fanbase than Link and Sonic. Although the amount they share should be very small in both cases.

I wouldn't put it above him. In a match between Chrono Trigger and Starcraft, I wouldn't be so sure which one was cheating more.

I may be saying it in a somewhat joking matter, but I really believe in this "old school SFF". Plus, we all know Mega Man should be deemed "the square slayer". He maimed Tidus, and scored 49%ish on Sephiroth in 2002.

Forget about 2003. Nothing interesting happened there.

I seriously think Raiden would suffer from an anti-vote problem much worst than Squall or Tidus ever had to face. Actually, I think it be closer to Pikachu.

And to think I remember you being blindly optimistic, like an older, more well-known me, for Mario's chances against Crono.

For shame. For shame.

Good memories. That, to this day, is the best match we've ever had in a contest. Mario marched back from those 900 votes after I had left. <3

Raiden anti-votes are overrated. Maybe in 2003, but I don't think it's a huge factor anymore. Visiting the Metal Gear Solid boards these days, there are Raiden haters around, but it's not anything ridiculous. And, they are usually swarmed by Raiden impartials/fans. Heck, check out Leonhart's NCAA thing. Raiden pulled 80% of the vote on that Silent Hill guy. I don't think Pikachu could do that against anyone.

Of course, maybe Pikachu pulled 80% of the vote against someone in that thing too, proving my theory wrong.

We'll never know though. Damn you people and your lack of nominations! (he'll get in next year because of MGS4, yeah...)

Will MGS4 even be out by next year? I doubt it highly.

Besides, nobody other than Inviso knows or cares about James Sunderland. Regardless, it's still pretty impressive what MGS2 did in Ulti's "Rate the Game" topic the other day. The hate has seemingly died down a lot. The same thing happened with FFVIII as well. The hate is still there but not nearly as strongly as it used to be.

Even so, if Raiden hate was what it was chalked up to be James would've pulled more than that on anti-votes alone. I anti-vote all the time on that thing. I surely can't be the only one.

Well a lot of antivoting in that is due to rankings and other crap. Like Zelda got anti-voted out the wazoo. She might not be able to beat Yoshi straight up, but no way she loses by that much if she isnt ranked.

Link/Ganon type relationship, methinks. Raiden would probably do O.K against not-Solid Snake, but against him, he collapses.

He really is only remotely popular because of being in MGS2, just like Ganon with LoZ.

Not that I don't <3 Ganon.

Not that I do <3 Raiden.

And I agree with Mister Mario. Always have. That's why I projected Raiden to get mid-high twenties in the X-Stats. *ducks*

It just makes sense. The main reason Raiden is hated in the first place is because he isn't Solid Snake. Raiden would get more hate votes than anywhere else in that match. Even the fans often say "he's no Solid Snake, but he was a pretty good character". So obviously when facing Solid Snake he's gonna lose a ton. I think the fact that he held up better than Ganondorf is pretty respectable, actually.

This is what happens when I come in here. The power of my sig slowly moves the conversation in a Raidenesque direction... mwahahaha!

For fun, assuming Raiden is to Solid as Ganon is to Link (assuming Ganon 2k3 is right):

--If Solid is unadjusted, Raiden gets 17.96% on Link 2k4 (just over Vyse).
--If Solid is adjusted, Raiden gets 19.96% on Link 2k4 (between VJ and Jill).

Doing it all wrong, HaRRicH. The proper way to do it is:

Ganondorf got SFFed down to 37.3% of his X-Stats value. Therefore, Raiden was similarly SFFed. 12.29/0.37 = Raiden gets 32.94% on Link. A few % below Solid Snake. Yeap, that looks about right.

(I don't even know if that's a legal move)

I think Raiden would beat post-VJ2 Viewtiful Joe, myself, and I'd probably end up taking him over Revolver too. I wouldn't expect anything more from Raiden than being on par or slightly stronger than Revolver though.

(I don't even know if that's a legal move)

Nah, it's completely legal. Wrong...but legal. =P
