Definitely an odd looking list. I don't know why I'd take Bowser over Ganondorf...it just wouldn't feel right otherwise, somehow. As far as Solid Snake rating that low...I've gotta stay true to my bracket. :-P For what it's worth, there's not much separating everyone from Auron through Solid Snake.

There we go. Solid Stats that I quite like, with the rightful placement of Samus above Sephiroth. Auron and Aeris might be a bit high, but other than that I'm pretty sure it would be like this.

You know how it's generally assumed that SEGA is the master of the day vote? If you really look into that, it's really just Master Hand.

I have MC behind Vivi because I don't think MC would top 55% on Donkey Kong. As far as Dante goes...I give him the edge simply because there's no telling how strong MC really was last year (curse you, Frog), and Dante had an edge on MC in the 2k3 rankings. I think it would be a very good match, though.

Likewise, I have a hard time imagining Master Hand losing the day-vote to anybody not from Nintendo...despite ultimately losing in most any match he's in. I could see MC and Knuckles almost cancel each other out with their day-votes though.

It may have been bottom-feeders, but he still absolutely raped the vote and made huge swings. I don't think MH would storm away with the day-vote against Knuckles though...but I do think he'd end up making the percentage a lil' closer than before the day vote (not much, mind you)...enough to win, not enough to matter.

Touche about Sin, though that only had Sin close in maybe 1,000 votes, I think (as opposed to MH's 6,000-vote turn-around, never before seen)? Thinkin' on it more though, I guess I can see Knuckles taking the day vote afterall...I think it's been said he hasn't lost the day-vote yet, afterall, though I don't think any of his opponents have been all that strong in the day-vote (Solid, maybe? Don't remember his trends).

Game sales don't mean much in the grand scheme of things. Vice City and San Andreas are both well over the 10 million unit mark, yet I don't hear anyone touting Vercetti or CJ as a top twenty character. I'm not saying that Halo 2 won't have a good impact for MC, but DMC3 was a highly acclaimed title itself, so it'd be silly to write it off.

I think that puts Geno a little too close to Kefka for my tastes. I feel that Super Mario RPG definitely benefitted from its title in the Spring Contest, something Geno won't get.

I don't think Geno would suffer from SFF. Most of his fans would probably vote him over anyone. Plus the fact that he would probably have more of a Nintendo fanbase than a Square fanbase. Even though Square MADE the game, it still was essentially a Nintendo game. It's kinda like saying the Minish Cap would bring Link a bunch of Capcom fans (although definitely not to that degree as MANY more people know that Square produced Super Mario RPG....)

Halo 2 was highly acclaimed too, whats your point? The fact is that a few months after the fact and the only thing I hear about DMC 3 is that its really hard. Not thats its a good game or anything about the quality, just hard. Its not even seen as a contender for GOTY especially when games like Jade Empire, Forza/GT4, and Resident Evil 4 are all out. It hasnt sold ONE THIRD of DMC 2. One third of a hated game! MC is in the second best selling game last year, an already strong character, and has no where to go but up. Plus, I cant be the only one who has noticed the Microsoft hate slowly erodding away, a lot of it being replaced by Sony hate. Sony hasnt made too many friends with all the stuff its pulled in the last few months.

Snake vs Sonic would be EXTREMELY close theoretically..

Using Ryu as a direct medium for Snake vs Sonic[More accurate than X-Stats when you have a direct person to compare them to]

Sonic vs Ryu 2k4 : Sonic - 55.54
Snake vs Ryu 2k3 : Snake - 57.26

Stats say Snake would win with around 52% of the vote, but Snake has obviously dropped off between 2003-2004 but I believe MGS3 would renew Snake's 2k3 strength..In fact, I would believe that 2k5 Snake will be more powerful than 2k3 and possibly 2k2 Snake.

Anyway, in a direct Snake on Sonic(eww) matchup, I would take Snake in an extremely close match, RE: Sonic/Samus 2k2.

I forgot God of War as well. Really I dont agree with GT4/Forza or Jade Empire (and I love Bioware) but all three of those games have recieved more GOTY talk than DMC 3. Resident Evil 4 deserves it at this point, but will probably be eclipsed by THAT game.

Snake can still get a potential boost from the game. Metal Gear Solid 3 could have potentially brought more Metal Gear Solid/Snake fans to the site.

It's not like Naked Snake and Solid Snake are THAT different anyways. But I actually don't know, since I haven't played the game yet.
