See, I found 6 to be the easiest by far. Outside of, off the top of my head, getting killed a couple of times by the boss after the Magitek Factory and being mauled by the pincer attacking tyrannosauruses in the WoR, I can't recall ever dying

yeah, the grand dragons there rule. it's like old FF/DQ games. where walking one step in the wrong direction means an overpowered enemy that will one-hit you.

I die in FF games occasionally, but I like to run from stuff and end up horribly underlevelled. as for suikoden, it's almost impossible to die in 1. I never played much of 2 cause it was so boring to me.

Is Catastrophe more powerful than Doom of the Living? I always have Cloud/Cid/Barret as my end game party in FFVII so can't vouch for Yuffie.

I got my *** kicked on by Sephiroth my first playthrough. I was level 50ish, Didn't have any ultimate limit breaks, no ultimate weapons, no KofR, no ribbon. Everything seems a lot easier now, but IMO most of the Final Fantasy games can be tough on you first playthrough if you dont use guides/Faqs. After that though, they're a breeze.

In my opinon FFX is easier than 7, but thats just me...

In FFVI, the Brachosaur's Ultima is usually a OHKO, as is the MagiMaster's Ultima. There's also a few difficult bosses in the World of Balance.

FFX gets extra points for hardness because of the Arena, but outside of the Arena it is really easy.

ff10's difficulty curve goes straight up if you don't do anything optional and don't know how to manipulate stuff like Rikku's mix. the difference between seymour 2 and seymour 3 is huge, even though they're only like two bosses apart.

on the other hand, if you do a bunch of monster arena stuff, the game is ridiculously easy.

Seymour 3 was easy. Easily the easiest of the Seymour boss fights.

Um, been a long time since I played, but isn't Seymour 3 the one who can be rendered useless by hitting the right panels and making him use nothing but one type of elemental attack, which can then be blocked?

I didnt do ANY of that, and I still thought it was easy. I had Tidus, Wakka, and Auron as my main party. Got a few of the hidden Aeons, a couple ultimate weapons and overdrives. I have no idea how to do anything with Rikku. Very easy, but damn good game all the way around.

Seymour 3's the one on top of Mt. Gagazet, the one who likes to zombie/full-life you, if I remember right. he likes to do one attack after you've done some damage to him that would one-hit me. compared to the things before him, he's way harder.

that would be doing some extra stuff. he's easy that way, though I don't think you can power up ultimate weapons until after you get your airship.

Seymour 1's the one you fight in Macalania. Seymour 2's the one you fight in Bevelle. Seymour 3's the one you fight on top of Mt. Gagazet. Seymour 4's the one you fight inside Sin.

Seymour 4 is a joke, yeah.

You fight Seymour four times. IIRC, you fight him at the Macalania temple, Bevelle, Mt. Gagazet, and in the final dungeon.

The first two were moderately annoying for me and the last two killed me several times.

I forgot the first one I think. But yeah the third one is really the only moderately difficult boss fight in the game. 4 is really easy.

I'm not going to call Final Fantasy VIII hard, but Final Fantasy VII is far easier.

All this FF talk...I should really get around to playing one one day.

You have never played a Final Fantasy game before? You're missing out on some great games... minus Final Fantasy IX, of course.

don't listen to HM, FF9 is the best of the new-school ones by far. if you've played FF games and didn't really care for them at first, it's unlikely you'll like them if you force yourself to play them. especially if you play FF8.

FF9 isn't exactly hard, either. I'd put it on FF7's level.

It's actually the worst of the new school Final Fantasy games.

I haven't play a lot of FF either. I got a PS2 like a few months ago (like on April) and since then I got FF7 and FFX. I finished FFX while I'm on the end of Disc 2 of FF7. I also got FF Chronicles (Chrono Trigger and FFIV), FFT and FFX-2 but I haven't touch them. I would like to fnish FF7 first.
