Proof of strength = 2003

Slightly stronger than Ganon, got 35% on Link. Squall, on the other hand, got 42% on Samus (not the beast Samus we saw in 204 either).

In 2004, Squall looked to be at the same strength he was in 2003. If you think Magus just dropped for no reason, especially since Crono increased, you're crazy.

Yeah, I almost forgot..I think the fact that Crono was able to finally actually put it to Mario after three years proves Crono increased, so I think that can make up for the fact Magus only had 30% against him.

That is enough for me to pick Magus over Squall.

And I have no problem with that. You are free to choose Magus over Squall, because it is the safer pick. But Squall over Magus can happen and isn't requiring some ridiculous, non-existant boost or anything like that. It is well within the realm of possibility.

Another reason why I'm reluctant to put Vercetti over Kefka is Kefka's recent performances. Against Knuckles, Kefka was expected to bomb, but put up a match. And Kefka vs. Diablo was still close. At this point, I can't see Vercetti doing anything against Diablo.

Alot of people would argue the same about MGS and MGS2, yet MGS2 still safely outranked MGS. Not saying this MUST mean this applies to the SC/SC2 situation, but I would think more people played SC2 than SC. I'm well-aware that Link was only in the Gamecube versions, which was the original thing I was getting at to show that Link and Ganon weren't joined at the hip necessarily, but I would take SC2 over KH.

Now, to explain this, ahem...Cloud can't double Sephiroth before SFF, Link CAN double Ganon before SFF. Sephiroth can break 60% on Aeris, Ganon CANNOT break 60% on Zelda. Zelda very well could be stronger in 2k3 than Solid is right now, too; that's a match that could change the whole contest.

Both upsets are possible and won't catch any hell from me, but I hereby claim that Zelda > Solid is more possible than Squall > Magus.

Incidentally, how much % does Chun-Li need to get against Bowser in order to make people scared about Bowser > Ryu?

I think Chun-Li's gettin' about 41% on Bowser, and I think Ryu'll get 48.5% or higher...so if Chun-Li gets 42% or higher, there's definite room to get scared.

I think Vercetti is much weaker now. If this was sc2k3, then yeah...Vercetti probably would have won, but he's definitely gotten weaker. Kefka has a shot now.

Not saying that Kefka doesn't have a shot, but where's this idea coming from that Vercetti is DEFINITELY and MUCH weaker?

A little something before I depart for work about Luigi. There's a series of odd coincidences surrounding him. I'm working on two tangents, here.

In 2k3, Luigi is supposed to be a powerhouse. Instead, he gets his ass handed to him by Squall in the highest scoring non Noble Nine poll. Strange. Squall goes on to lose to Samus, who loses to Link. Samus either drops or stays constant, depending on your view of WDF, despite having her first game since the mid nineties and said game being extremely successful. Strange.

In 2k4, Luigi beats the hell out of Pac-Man, yet Kefka gives Knuckles a match. Strange. Nevertheless, Luigi loses to Yoshi in a possible SFF match. Yoshi goes on to lose to Uber-Link, and we adjust him up based on his 2k3 value. Who did Yoshi lose to in 2k3? Bowser, in a possible SFF match. What happened to Bowser between 2k3 and Sp2k5? He got a noticeable increase. Strange.

Where's Luigi on the Nintendo pecking order right now? Under Donkey Kong?
