The Boss >> Auron >= Big Boss
Too bad CJayC obviously hasn't played MGS3, otherwise she would have been in. Ah well, she probably would have gotten killed.

That... was her final mission. And like a true soldier, she saw it through the end.

We exactly two matches of Zelda, which is against Lara Croft and Mega
Man. There's reason to believe that Zelda's strength in 2003 may have
been too high as it was and I certainly see no reason for her to
benefit from any increase that Link got. I see decreasing until she
gets something actually noteworthy, which is Twilight Princess here in November. Until then, the Black Mage is taking her out.

But I still believe you're incredibly mistaken. Bowser can beat Snake and Ryu can beat Snake. There's no reason to just ignore the results from the Spring Contest and say that Bowser got nothing; that's just as foolish as saying Bowser increased above Mario.
I agree, Ryu has no chance against Bowser after the Spring contest results, whether you think Ganon remained the same or not, you can't deny a significant Bowser increase.
Out of Bowser/Ryu/Tidus, the only one I see having a shot is Bowser, but I also think Snake will recieve a very similar boost to the one we saw Bowser have, so I'm sticking with the Badana Bad Ass.

I guess I'll reply to this from last topic, since everyone's still posting inequalties. -__-'
Even at Kefka's best, he's projected to get 47% on Vercetti assuming a static Sephiroth, and this is before San Andreas. Why all the Kefka > Vercetti hype?
One problem. Vercetti's not in San Andreas, and it's obvious Kefka has increased.
If anything, the hype that FF6 seems to be getting through Terra can help, but I don't rely on that.
Honestly, this is the only upset I"m willing to offer.
Btw, can you please tell how you got that projection of Kefka 47% on Vercetti? I don't know how to do that. :-(

Where's that board-based bracket I made? I'm pretty sure Terra got a 1-seed, while The Boss was well further down the field.

Dabu has ChunLi over Bowser
It's a silly pick but I wouldn't mind if that result actually happened for a couple of reasons. One, I like Chunli and two, that result would ruin a ton of brackets.
Incidentally, how much % does Chun-Li need to get against Bowser in order to make people scared about Bowser > Ryu?

While a Bowser/Ryu/Tidus upset isn't completely out of the question, I
really wish we could see Snake against someone like Sonic or even Magus
or Zero this year. His contest path would be the same for too large a
range of strength as it is.

HM, I'm willing to bet that you haven't played any MGS game for more
than an hour. Don't try to judge the characters when you know squat
about them, Mr. EarthBound Sucks Even Though I've Only Gotten to Twoson.
Well now, here's what you get for assuming, buddy.
I have completed Metal Gear Solid.
I have played Metal Gear Solid 2 for four hours; could not take listening to those damn codec calls and the constant beeping.
I have completed Metal Gear Solid 3, it happens to be my favorite of the series and the only one I would call decent.
And as far as EarthBound is concerned, I got to Fourside, not Twoson. I'm perfectly capable of judging whether or not I want to waste more of my time after getting that far. I have never insulted the characters that I don't know enough about. I don't call Ness lame or horrible or anything like that.
This goes for anything. Have you ever seen me call Raiden horrible? No, you haven't. Why is that? I'm not going to say good or bad about a character unless I know them more than I do. However, the gameplay from each of these games prevents me from progressing.

*awaits the magical 5% Squall boost that will propel him to victory*
Or, you know, the fact that Magus's strength is hardly concrete. Anyone who is capable of checking stats is capable of figuring out that Magus himself hasn't proven anything solid since 2003.

I did a little more number crunching with Zelda and Ganondorf. If
Ganondorf's score on Sephiroth was all increase, and Zelda increases at
that same proportion, Zelda will be at around 33.20% on 2k3 Link. Solid
Snake adjusted
is at 33.05% on 2k3 Link. If Zelda increased at the same proportion as
Link did from '03 to '04, she is at 32.96% on 2k3 Link. Personally, I
believe that the XS makers overcompensated a little bit for Mega
Man/Link, and that Snake will be between the 29.95% on 2k3 Link that
the Unadjusted stats have and the 33.05% that the Adjusted stats have,
and that the boost from MGS 3 will be minimal at best. Who, after
buying MGS 3, would vote for Snake over Zelda that wouldn't before MGS
3, especially considering that Snake technically isn't even in the game?

As for Bowser/Ryu, I think Bowser will win. Those saying Ryu has it in
the bag are looking at the contests from the wrong point of view. They
say Ryu performed very well against noble nine characters while Bowser
stunk...truth is, Bowser got screwed by heavyweights while Ryu was
close against weaklings. And changing voting trends also makes it tough
to assume Ryu beat Bowser.
Bowser vs Ryu will be close, but because this is gamefaqs, Nintendo has the advantage. Bowser 53-47 is my prediction.

Snake. Sonic wouldn't be bad either. I think Ganon's 2004 stats are a
bit spotty, but after the Spring it's hard to doubt him, and Snake had
to have gotten some sort of increase from MGS3.

My previous post was of course in response to Ulti's question ages ago. I'm gonna go play Mavis Beacon.

Crono and Magus are two totally different beasts.
The only hero:villain relationship I can think of in which the two don't rise or fall together is Cloud:Sephiroth, and the evidence on that is spotty at best. Magus is capable of breaking 55% on Squall.

I find this highly ironic, because FFVIII is the one RPG that didn't get a chance in the Spring Contest.
I don't think FF8 would do as well as FF7. Remember that CT edged out competitors like Lttp and SMB3. And if CT wasn't popular, then where does Crono, Magus, and Frog draw their popularity from?

Who, after buying MGS 3, would vote for Snake over Zelda that
wouldn't before MGS 3, especially considering that Snake technically
isn't even in the game?
Me, because MGS3 was my first MGS game.

Why is that? If Magus can be almost equal to Ganondarf by SC2K3 stats, he can beat Luigi.

Let's just say MGS 2 wasn't the most critically acclaimed title, and any younger gamers/people who recently got into gaming/non-ps1/gc owners would.

Picking Squall to beat Magus is suicide if you look at the stats,
people. I feel like half of you are picking your anuses for reasons to
believe in upsets. -___-'
Perhaps you aren't capable of looking at how awkward the stats look whenever you measure a character through Magus one year and how they perform the next when they don't face him. They are always overrated in the stats, except when you actually drop Magus. I'll admit, it isn't the most likely outcome at all, and there's obvious bias playing a role in the pick. However, it is very possible; don't think that Magus has a concrete place in the stats based off of adjustments that just send him up to his 2003 level despite how there was nothing to suggest he would be that high.
You act as though Magus would kill Squall with 60%. Let me inform you, Magus is projected to get with 54.59% of the vote. Ooooh, that's just a killing.

I'm hoping for a 57-43 match in Magus's favor; utter destruction.

Magus beat Ganondorf in SC2K3. Squall would not be Ganondorf.
Yikes! That was two years ago! Nothing could have changed since then, no sir!
