How I'd list our Elite Eight at the moment:

I'm tempted to put Sonic over Mega Man, but that assumes that there was no SFF in Link vs Mega Man in the first place. Which is impossible, given where a hard stat for that match places Solid Snake. You don't beat the hell out of Ryu one year only to be that far below him. Ryu almost never fluctuates.

No...it's obvious Samus has gotten stronger, because that 2002 win came without a new game since 1994, and having only SSB appearances. The new Metroid games brought her up and destroyed Sonic in 2004.

I don't think it will be anything as progressive as a tag team match. I personally hope it is doctored to seeding to set up monster first round matches, even if it entails moving people 3-5 seeds from what anything logical says they deserve/earned.
