Usually, we have a month minus one or two days for noms and brackets combined. That puts us straight on July 15.
But that's a moot point, because if AC's release date is set in stone, then it's going to be out before the contest is over regardless.

I think Samus is a very nice upset pick against Sephiroth, which is
more than I could say prior to the villain contest. You could make a
good case for her winning a potential matchup against him...

I'm betting the 1 seeds will be Clinkeroth and Samus and the 2 seeds
will be Mario, Crono, Sonic, and Mega Man. If that's the case, we won't
have another Mario vs. Crono, but there could be a Sonic vs. Samus or
Sephiroth vs. Mega Man if Ceej has lost his mind.

I have the same sentiments about a Samus/Seph match as HM, except I
believed it to be fully possible before the villains contest. I'd still
take Sephiroth, but the upset definitely could come through.

I seriously hope Clinkeroth stays in. Samus has a chance of upsetting Sephiroth, while the winner of Cloud/Link is undecided.
As for 1 seeds, I think Clinkeroth and Megaman will get it. Samus will get the 2 seed in Seph's division, Mario in Megaman's division, Snake in Link's division and Crono in Cloud's. Sonic will get the 3 seed in Megaman's division.

Samus and Crono have both been on the rise since 2k2, while Seph's KHF appears to be "wearing off," for lack of a better term. I think both of them could be very competitive with him, unless he plays a huge role in AC and the match takes place at least a week after it releases.

say, but a lil'), thus taking out any chance of an upset in my mind; if
