But I still signed you up before you could sign up on your own, so pwned.

1) FACT or FICTION: Frog will be back in the contest this year.

I say fact, and he'll be in a rematch with Master Chief.

2) FACT or FICTION: Vivi will be back in the contest this year.

Fiction. If Terra gets in, and it look like she will, a low-end FF character is going to get snubbed in the process.

3) FACT or FICTION: Viewtiful Joe will be back in the contest this year.

I say fact, but barely. He could have a seeding dropoff similar to Lara Croft's.

4) FACT or FICTION: Knuckles will be set up to face Solid Snake in the second round.

If this happens, CJayC either has a very cruel sense of humor or is a practitioner of sadomasochism. Fiction, I hope.

5) FACT or FICTION: Mario will be set up to face Crono.

No, fiction. Not on purpose, anyway.

6) FACT or FICTION: Master Chief, assuming SFF in matches ahead of him doesn't happen, will be proven to be able to get 30+% on Link 2k4.

Fact, though I still think he got placed far higher than he should have in 2004.

7) FACT or FICTION: Solid Snake will get to the Elite Eight and lose once again.

Fact. He always gets stuck in the rat division.

8) FACT or FICTION: CATS will be a 16-seed.

Fiction. I think CJayC has even gotten over the barrier that CATS can't win a match, and may treat him as normal fodder rather than a joke. The problem ijs that the standard full body CATS pic blows.

I think it's hilarious how biased the board has become to completely disregard something so obvious.

Only on Board 8 would you have people thinking hype for a game will out do an actual release. Not that I don't encourage them to choose the loser in Link, but it's just humorous to see how many people are willing to put a winner behind pure hype and completely give Cloud no chance.

It's cool; we're still at least a month away from the contest. Chances are he'll replay another Zelda game or watch a new TP trailer and will linger back to the side of sanity, albeit briefly.

No, Link has a chance. After all, he did win the contest last year and currently is stronger from what we know.

I don't know if you've seen the topic asking about who will win between Cloud and Link, but the exaggerations are nothing short of moronic. Cloud needs a "big boost" to beat Link, Twilight Princess will make Link win (I love that one), and that hype for Twilight Princess beats out Advent Children's release.

I don't mind that people think Link will win, no matter how much I disagree, but when those three reasons are brought up I can't help but wonder what is going through these people's heads.

Link will most likely get the bracket support, for whatever that's worth.

Take out the bracket support from Sephiroth vs Ganondorf and you will likely have a fairly accurate gauge of how Cloud would do against Link right now.

And if the contest begins on July 15th, AC comes out around match 60, right? I don't think that's long enough for it to have a large effect, DVDs aren't usually that frontloaded. Only the FFVII fanboys will have bought it by the time Link x Cloud happens, and they'd vote for Cloud anyway.

And if we get the goodness of Link and Cloud in the same division, AC won't even be released until after the match. Not much chance of it giving Cloud the victory then.

One thing that people are forgetting is vote totals. I can't ever see Link losing a match that gets a low amount of votes, and the totals have gotten lower with each contest since Summer 2003.

Although, imagine the hilarity of the bracket page highlighted with NOBODY EXPECTED A GAME CONTEST.

A game contest based off of character nominations, no less. Imagine how funny that bracket would look for a minute.

The odds of CJayC starting the contest July 15th remain highly unlikely. That would give us the shortest amount of time we've ever had to create a bracket. We had about three weeks with 32 characters, there's no reason to think we won't have the entire month of July with 64 characters and the actual contest starting August 1st.

At that point in time, the only way Advent Children wouldn't have an affect is if Link/Cloud took place in Round 2. We can throw around all of these odd starting times, but none of them are even plausible.

September 13th, 2005 for North America. And yes, it's set in stone. Tetsuya Nomura stated that the movie was near completion and that there would be no further delays. This is the first time they've actually handed out a month, much less an actual date. Square even has a countdown timer on their Advent Children website for when it releases.
