This is pure theory that I'm not taking seriously right now...but would anybody think that seeing villains in this contest (and MAYBE moreso for the ones on the banner) has inspired many people to play their games? If so, would anybody expect the heroes of said games to recieve small increases from it?

But for who? The top 8 villians in this contest involves main characters who everyone pretty much already knows in Link, Mario, Cloud, Solid Snake, Ryu, and Samus. Diablo it really wouldnt work on. Maybe Kefka, but FFVI strong showing should of done that over this.

I thought that, but then I also thought about how much more obscure many of these villains are than their heroes, so maybe people would feel more inclined to check them out. As for who, I mean in general; I wouldn't expect much of a boost for any of them, though it may be worth considering in closer matches...but I could see Samus getting a lil' extra help due to how hyped Ridley/Diablo was and that she had two villains in the contest, should this theory mean anything.

Strangely enough, the two most impressive characters in this contest (in terms of winning expectations, from a guesstimate) were probably Diablo and Master Hand, so this theory likely ain't worth lookin' into anymore. I'd still probably use it for a match in the summer if I can't think of any other way to decide the match though, for what it's worth.
