It would, but it doesn't look like it's going to help :/

Seph is tearing into him right now, and that sucks.

You know how people go on about the board vote, and sometimes saying that the board is still a factor three+ hours in a match?

There are around 300 people who actually come to this board.

Please stop saying 'lolz its teh board vote' when this board vote ended 18 years ago. Don't forget, people outside American timezones do exist, and therefore will be awake to vote early for this match.

Thank you.

I don't think anyone honestly believes the board votes lasts longer than about 10 - 15 minutes. And even then, the majority of the board gets their votes in within the first 5 minutes or so.

I'm just saying, because some people were saying that, for example, Bison was leading Diablo two hours into the poll, because of 'the board vote'.

It's just so stupid.

Well saying Bison's lead was because of the board was faulty. His lead clearly started detiorating come morning.

But I can understand saying it in cases like Kefka and CATS. They can lead strongly for just over an hour, and then fall from getting 53% to 45% or something like that. I mean, there's not much going on between 12:00 and 1:00 that you can blame on certain voting shifts so the board vote was created...

But seriously, I had no idea what else it could be. Nothing changes in America during that time. And in European countries, it's really no different either. Nothing major. Especially considering less than a quarter of our voters are European to begin with.

So if you can't find any other reason for this voting trend... blame it on SOMETHING.

But there are less then 300 people posting in this board regularly. When the poll is already in the 1000s of votes, then the board vote is over.

Well "board vote" is too specific. It's safe to assume that there are lots of people who still take the contest seriously and never bother going on the boards. I think it's just a general way of saying "Hardcore tournament followers" vote first.

People use it to mean this board specificly, and that makes no sense. What you said, is far more accurate than to think that it's our specific board that;s making a character do this well. The first what, 50 or so votes may be from this board, but then it all mixes and we're overwhelmed by the majority which doesn't go to this board.

We're still only nearing the 15k vote mark and Sephi hasbeen steadily increasing. Sure, not by leaps and bounds like Ganon was yesterday but we should see Sephi move into the low to mid 60's during the day... not too far off what people expected.

So... I see Bowser had it tied through 1000 votes. Freakin' boss. Now all I have left to hope for is enough of the top 150 people to have either Bowser, Diablo or Ganondorf winning a match in the next three days to sniff the top 50, so this contest will not have been a total loss...

...and somebody goes all that time missing only one match, and then puts Robotnik over Ganondorf? Sheesh...

Bah, Bowser's falling, but just for fun...

If Bowser ends with 42.5% on Seph, using his adjusted 2004 value he'd end up with 36.04% (over an adjusted Mega-Man and behind Crono). If we un-adjust, but keep his adjusted value, he'd end between Crono and Mario.

Using 2003 Seph, he'd end up with 40.79% and in 4th place in 2003! Same for 2004, as he'd be over Samus with that value.

I just found a new found love for this Contest.

My theory that without the main character of a series in a contest, the fans will vote for the next best character from that series instead, might have some weight. And if it does, Sephiroth could be in trouble in two days.

Blah. Bowser wouldn't do this well in a regular character battle. If Sephiroth closes in on 65%, maybe I'll reconsider this match being accurate. I won't throw the stats away completely, though...there's just no way I'll use the extrapolated stats when this is all said and done.

Now, it makes me wonder about GDorf vs. Sephiroth...could he make it even closer? GDorf isn't exactly an icon like Bowser is, and GDorf vs. Seph might not be as great of a "rivalry" as Bowser vs. Seph...on the other hand, GDorf vs. Seph will be the final, so you never know.

Well, if the performances of Bowser and Ganondorf in the divisional finals are any indications along with this match, it would seem that Ganondorf should make it even with Sephiroth. Assuming Seph doesn't rise too much more...
