Sigma is under CATS; specifically, he's at 12.80% on 2k3 Link holding Bowser constant, which gives him 19.06% on 20XXDF Zero, which is the furthest Hero/Villain relationship off the top of my head.

Anyway, the rest of this Contest is going to be pretty boring, so don’t get your hopes up. It will also be very depressing. Bowser deserves to win this match, but he won’t cause Sephiroth is unstoppable to anyone except Link or Cloud. Yeah, Bowser will get destroyed unfortunately. I just hope GameFAQs still has enough decency to not let Bowser get doubled. But, after seeing what Seph did to Liquid, and remembering that Seph got 61.6% on Mario, the chances are slim to none. Then again, Bowser got 30% on Cloud in 2003, and that was in the year he won, so at least the chance is there.

Well, let’s play with some numbers.

An adjusted 2004 Bowser would get 34.05% on 2004 Seph (that’s good).
An un-adjusted 2004 Bowser would get 24.06% on 2004 Seph (that’s really bad).
2003 Bowser would get 31.14% on a 2003 Seph [Cloud] (that’s still kinda bad).
An adjusted 2004 Bowser would get 30.01% on 2003 Seph (that’s bad).
An un-adjusted 2004 Bowser would get 21.21% on 2003 Seph (Hide the children)

The rest of the board may hate him for not being a “real villain” but c’mon, you guys love Bowser, and he’s definitely not a real villain. I’ll say it again. Bowser is nothing more than a very popular joke.

Anyway, I really didn’t feel like writing much for this prediction, so I kept the Bowser bashing to a minimum (for me).

The funny thing is, if somehow Master Hand had beat Robotnik and managed to get the same % on Ganon as Robotnik is doing, everyone would've said it was SSBM SFF—and then we would've had a convenient excuse for raising Kuja up.

I was thinkin' of this at work today; everybody would have done it, too (hell, I know I would have).

Looking back at that upset poll is fun: never imagined Bison would be so much more popular then Master Hand.

Funny how that worked out, eh? Heh...hell, it's lookin' like MH is below CATS and Ultros, too.

Kuja has NO casual appeal whatsoever, other than his Trance form. His overly effeminate appearance (the thong, in particular), the fact that he does practically nothing overtly for 75% of the game, not to mention he's not even seen for the first quarter of the game, does not bode well for him.


boy, does this sound familiar. it's exactly what i said about a month ago about why Master Hand could beat Kuja, and i was referred to as insane. =P

i also said that the Robotnik/Sin/Hand/Kuja 4-pack would be the weakest 4-pack in the contest and they would all be fodder.

and in all honesty, none of these x-stat results are really surpising to me. i really don't see why they are such a shock to most people. the weak level of Sigma surprises me more than anyone else. i said before the contest started that the only characters i expected to be worthwhile (above semi-fodder level) were Diablo and Ocelot, and possibly Bison, Ridley, Wily, and Sigma. of course, i was off on wily and way off on Sigma (and Lavos did better than i expected), but otherwise, i expected everyone else to be a pile of weaklings and they are.

I'd love to see Gordon Freeman vs CATS.

If Sephiroth decreased in strength in 2004 instead of getting SFF'd by Cloud, Mario gets an even 41% on him now. That gives Bowser plenty of breathing room to avoid a doubling.
