how could ridley not be stronger than mother brain? it is tough to comprehend otherwise. if you would set down the x-stats for two seconds and think about it, it's plain to see at least that much. now albedo and luca is a less obvious comparisson since they're not from the same games.

Luca was somebody Albedo was frequently compared to after his loss to Bison, and they're similar in how they come from non-Square RPGs. Obviously, Luca's game is much more obscure, but I understand Albedo is seen far less in his game as well. It's not a bad comparison, though I always thought Albedo should be stronger than that.

I'm rooting for diablo only because of how few people will have diablo winning the match. Any n00b picker will have kefka because he's a FF 1-seed, and I'd hate to see them all get "free" points without even realizing how good a match this will be.

Not to say kefka isn't a strong pick.. I just hate being destroyed by lucky n00bs who have horrible brackets ;).




Anyway, kefka is building fast, but it is slowing (percentage drops) already and I'm not going to repeat the whole day/night deal. I think diablo will win.

well i've actually played every suikoden game and no xeno games, so it's hard for me to tell. basically i just choose not to compare although i see where you're coming from with the comparison. i had previously assumed that m.bison vs. albedo was going to be a closer match for a few reasons. 1 - b/c kosmos took me by surprise in previous contests. 2 - sf fans kept telling me that they didn't like m.bison. as it turns out, m.bison is pretty popular and i guess no one really knows albedo. i don't expect a lot of people to know luca either, but i would imagine that if luca and albedo had faced off in this contest, luca would've won simply b/c he has been in a previous contest. by this same logic i would say that other rpg characters that are newly exposed would grow in the x-stats also.

You think this'll earn diablo a spot into the summer contest? it's really hard to say, b/c while i feel like this performance makes him deserving of a spot, i also feel like he's just got the underdog/b.net backing that could be swayed in the favor of most any blizzard character. the only new lock i would say is ocelot despite his underperformance.

After the HUGE drop Liquid's apparently made and the big drop Solid had last year, I don't see any reason to give Revolver the benefit of any doubt until Bowser does better than expected against Sephiroth...and that, I think, isn't likely to happen.

actually from my brief glance at things, it looks like diablo is starting to make his stand. and i would say that diablo is without a doubt the strongest new character. ocelot and robotnik are both distant seconds in my book. but then again who cares about my opinion. >_>
