Well, they did both get the crap beat out of them by Final Fantasy VI.

Heh. I mean Doom was popular for it's violence. If you want the FPS that was actually innovative, and started it all, look at Wolfenstein 3D. Not saying it's a better game than Doom, but Doom gets a lot of credit it doesn't deserve.

Then there's EarthBound, which is brilliantly innovative AND awesome at the same time. :)

Haven't personally played Earthbound, but I'm not a big fan of Doom anyhow. First person shooters in general don't appeal to me.

Actually, even if Robotnik beat MH 70-30 and Gannon beat Robotnik 66-34, Kuja would only be Ryo Hazuki level. Which would still give me some enjoyment, and I dont even mind Kuja as a character.

I had a thought about Metroid villians. Is it possible for Metroid Prime to be stronger than Ridley/Mother Brain. It is featured in both of the new Metroid games and it has the Nemesis "My name is in the title" factor going for it.

Metroid Prime is never named as such in MP2. While the same entity, I can't say I've ever linked Dark Samus and MP when my thoughts turn to either of them.

Dark Samus' strength is unpredictable. Just about all the votes it would get would be solely because it looks like Samus-and for the love of God, HM, don't try to argue that people would vote for DS due its minimal personality and character development. I've had enough Metroid debates with you. >_>

It's the same deal as Dark Link, really. I actually wanted to see DL make it into the contest, because it would provide a great X-factor that this contest desperately needs (well, aside from Master Hand.)

Well Dark Samus IS Metroid Prime in the Phazon Suit so a Dark Samus picture could be used just to get that point across. Plus looks like Metroid Prime is returning for a third go around.

I can't say I've ever linked Dark Samus and MP when my thoughts turn to either of them.

After completing MP2, I think it is rather obvious that the two are the same being. Although to know this, you would have either had to listen to Retro Studios earlier on or gotten 100% in Metroid Prime.

Dark Samus' strength is unpredictable. Just about all the votes it would get would be solely because it looks like Samus-and for the love of God, HM, don't try to argue that people would vote for DS due its minimal personality and character development.

Well, I wouldn't have said anything about the character or personality, because as of right now, Metroid Prime is lacking a lot of it. But I'm hoping they give it some character - at the least, it's incredibly persistent. Encountering Samus twice and still living is no easy feat. =p

I would have said it would get votes for being a kick ass battle before saying it would be because of its character/depth. Regardless, it is rather apparent that Dark Samus would get votes based upon looking like Samus. I'm not even going to disagree with that.

Ridley and Kraid have both died before. After Metroid, the Space Pirates spent time attempting to resurrect the fallen Ridley, Kraid, and Mother Brain. And Ridley's enhancements from MP were a direct order for him.

I find ChichiriMuyo's theory rather intriguing. (well, I've thought about this before, actually) It fixes quite a few things along with having no Mega Man/Link anomoly, and it keeps Mega Man and Sephiroth in proportion. DK's extrapolated value through Vivi and Sephiroth also comes through perfectly without adjusting for any SFF. Some of the recent matches Chichiri pointed out, though... The theory takes care of not only CATS through Ganondorf, but it also makes Luca Blight consistant through Magus.

However, the problem lies in the Hyrule and Chaos divisions of SC2K4. Mario gets boosted, while Crono and Link get huge boosts. Then, Sonic, Ryu, KOS-MOS take huge boosts proportionally which wouldn't make any sense, as none of them had anything truly huge and they are so distantly related to each other. What's also interesting is that Auron got what he should've against Sephiroth if Cloud was the same as the previous year instead of Sephiroth. If Mega Man vs. Link was accurate, the only way out of this would be to say that Samus did too well against Cloud, or Sonic did too well against Samus.

Just FYI, Jill Valentine would receive 24.33% against Sephiroth in SC2K4 using raw numbers, and Freeman would receive 15.80% against him, so apparently the problem would have to lie with Sonic vs. Samus.

But...Sora being up there with Squall? Plus, note that Sonic, Ryu, and KOS-MOS seem about right assuming Cloud '04 = Cloud '03, yet you have to assume there's another coincidence here in that Sonic overperformed against Samus just the right amount. Hm...
