Well look at it this way. Who beats Kefka? Sephiroth? Isn't a villian Hojo then? No Ultimet.. hahahaha Kuja? No Sin/Seymour/Whoever else you put here? No Ex-Death? hahahahaha Zeromus might actually be second.

Kuja very much does beat out Kefka, as does Garland - the best FF villain - and Zeromus. But it isn't an accomplishment to be better than Kefka. You're asking me to choose which of these villains sucks less than Kefka. And the only one who sucks more is Sephiroth.

No, I'm not being like you and saying there's absolutely no way it would happen. I'm saying I don't buy it right now, and I don't see any reason to consider Diablo the favorite to beat Kefka based on this performance either.

You simply about the upcoming Diablo/Kefka match and when I responded with Diablo you brought up Bison being stronger than Ken. This performance today does not suggest in any way that he doesn't look good to beat Diablo. Obviously, he isn't an overwhelming favorite, but I'm still definitely taking him over Kefka next round. By at least as much as Diablo wins by today. There's certainly nothing crazy about that.

Zeromus could be greater than Kefka. Its close. People underestimate the quality of Final Fantasy IV. Good game, probably the last moderately difficult Final Fantasy game. I like most of the characters except for maybe the two worst characters in the entire series. Rosa for being the FF version of Collette. Edward for being not only a horrible character, but being the most useless character in battle ever that you are FORCED to use.

I was just questioning the idea of Diablo "looking good" to beat Kefka next round, which I really couldn't say he does. It's a push at this point, especially with Kefka actually looking stronger than anything we had him at before.

How can we judge Bison > Ken yet at all. There are no stats for Bison,

Depending on how you view Albedo, Bison would be very near to Kefka.

Where, exactly?

The "fanbase" dominantly favors Magus yet Crono is stronger. The "fanbase" prefers Auron, but we've seen Tidus rank ahead of him - although, I suppose this one would not work given that Auron ranks ahead of Tidus by a fairly good amount. And the "fanbase" prefers Yoshi to Bowser, yet it is the opposite when the polls are put up. The fanbase can prefer characters all they want, but that doesn't mean we'll see it play out in how their preference is toward it.

And I could careless what "RPG Gods" think. There is far better out there than freakin' Kefka.

I'm now thinking that this is just M. Bison being weaker than we all thought he was. Albedo vs. CATS would be a tossup after seeing how badly Ansem crapped out.

Ridley is such a nothing character in the Metroid series. I can't see him being any stronger than Ness. That would place Diablo...where? Around Luigi? Seems perfectly reasonable to me.

Yes, because having owning and having beaten every game iin the series multiple times, as well as giving a detailed account of all of Ridley's appearances (check the last topic), really indicates that I know nothing about the series.

Please, do test my knowledge.

I wasn't speaking in absolutes. It's just the broad impression I got from your posts about Metroid.

Zeromus would not do well, since you don't see him until the very end. same with Necron - Kuja and Garland are clearly the bad guys in ff9. Golbez might have a shot, but even that's questionable. I can't see anything from ff4 getting more support than anything from ff6.

Im not saying in this contest. Im saying Zeromus is a cool villian in general. He would bomb here. Doesnt make him a bad villian.

Ganon, Bowser, Wiegraf, Ghaleon, and Kerrigan all immediately come to mind as villains that are far, far better than Kefka. Of course, this isn't the end of the line, merely the beginning and most obvious ones.

Indeed. It works the other way with Sephiroth doing great here doesn't make him a good villain.

Oh, right, so we're keeping his "greatness" to a singular genre? Galcian, Ghaleon, Fou-Lu, Wiegraf, Zeromus, Hojo, Kuja, Zophar.

Thats actually not a terrible list. I havent played Lunar so I cant go through it all. Galcian isnt even the best villian in his game, though. Kefka > Ramirez. Hojo could of been, but there was little focus on him except for one area. It was all Mr. Not-Villain. Wiegraf, I agree. Fou-Lu and Zeromus are close, but I put Kefka ahead of both.

But here is who you forgot: Romeo Guildenstern, Jon Irenacus (Yes I do actually think he is a good villian), Luca Blight, and of yeah Zeon for being Zeon.

I was thinking... If everything goes as planned for me, I will end the contest with 76/80 points. How many people do you think will be above/tied with me if I end with that score? If you're wondering what my remaining picks are, they are:

Diablo
Ganon
Kuja -> Wrong and will knock me down 2 points
Bowser
Sephiroth
Diablo
Ganon
Sephiroth
Ganon
Sephiroth

Right now, there are 3963 people that have lost 4 or less points. With some very rough calculations I think we'll lose a bunch on this current match, the MH match and the next Diablo match. I just want to crack the top 50 for a change! Unforunately I think that there will be like 500 people around my level by the end of the contest. :(

Well Luni, I know you will be behind at least 11 of us, because 11 of us have the identical bracket in the guru challenge, and it is your identical bracket from here on in, except we've only missed the MH/Kuja match. So I fear you will not get to see the top 50, but then again, I fear I will not get to see it either =(

Stupid last minute change from Ghaleon to Vergil saved my bracket, but prolly cost me a spot on the leaderboard in the first five matches.

Of course, breathing also keeps you alive.

That's a horrible analogy, and my post obviously wasn't intended to be a derogatory comment. It was just a question. Discussion. You know, what the point of these topics is.
