Kiros in FFVIII was black, and Wakka is about as dark as Ansem, ya know.

I wasn't being serious, ya know.

I picked Bowser vs. Ganondorf in the finals and Bowser to win it. When I entered this contest, I had no idea who to pick, so I figured that I'd lose a bunch of matches (I was right; missed two easy ones in round one and picked Willy today), so I figured I'd need a way to somehow gain a bunch of points over the competition at once (hint: 16). Also, I figured any of the classics have a chance to have a good day and beat anyone. Otherwise, what the heck, its not like I was gonna win anyway.

Speaking of race... I remember one time on the Final Fantasy 8 Board, we were talking about who would play the characters in a real life movie. We were trying to figure out who could play Ward. Someone suggested Michael Clarke Duncan (from Green Mile) and I agreed, since he's damn huge and a good actor.

Somebody then complained that wouldn't work because he was black. I told him it really didn't matter that much in that situation since Ward is a minor character in the game. The guy then responded that it would be like Nelly playing Cloud and Brandy playing Aeris. o_O I didn't know whether to die laughing, get mad, or cry myself to sleep over the fact that Nelly and Brandy are the best representation of the black race that people on Gamefaqs could come up with... <_<

You know, you can easily exaggerate height with computers and such. Just look at Lord of the Rings.

Either way, part of getting a role in a movie is fitting the proper characteristics. Michael Clarke Duncan wouldn't really be a good choice.

Yes, but one of his greatest strengths is his voice and his presentation. That wouldn't fit for Ward at all. I could see him playing Amarant, though.

Heh, just thought I'd throw that factor out there to see if anybody else might think anything of it; I already said I don't buy the racism factor though. Regardless, it's a more believable factor than the friggin' SWF we had going on for Kuja/MH while it was still close and everyone was looking for a way to justify it if Kuja lost in a close one, especially in hind-sight (although even I half-bit on it at first).

Michael Clarke Duncan was an awful Kingpin (though when I first heard of the casting I thought it was an interesting choice that could be good).

Kingpin isn't fat though. He's supposed to be massively muscled. It's supposed to be some sort of don't-judge-a-book theme, I guess.

I believe race would definitely have an influence when dealing with an overtly black character with a black personality like the guy from San Andreas.

Well, the timing couldn't be better I guess. I have finals on Tuesday so I could spend the time studying. Although it seems like a waste to study when the class is graded on a curve and I beat the 2nd highest grade by 9%.

I've always thought of Diabloii.net as pretty popular. Used it all the time when I was still playing D2. Check the message boards and see the number of posters. It should have a decent number of people in there.

Anywho, I think those of you who beleive Ganon will do better on Seph than stats have him at are in for a real shock. Also, considering yesterdays loss of three, those of you who think we've still got a great shot a a perfect will be in for a shock (we might still get it, but these flies will be dropping fast).

If Ocelot gets near 60%, that's a very high percentage who had him beating Nemesis and Wily both.

I'm fairly sure that a lot of people lucked into a perfect first round, and if they lucked into it (and with Wily having a higher % in rd 1 than Ocelot) we'll lose a good chunk. Hell, we lost 3 yesterday, we're bound to lose a good chunk today.

I think half of the current perfects are luck, and half are just plain awesome at predicting. So while we'll see a lot fall, I think there will be a good 10 or 20 of them that will always hang on.
